these photos are from malpura in tonk district rajasthan. i don't like sticking my camera in the face of people i don't know. i had just acquired a lumix FZ 300 with a flip screen so i could hold the camera on my lap and look down at it instead of point and shoot. while the people did not know i was taking their photo i always approached them afterwards and showed the image to them. with very few exceptions the response i got was very positive, most everyone liked the fact that they were candid shots but for anybody who objected i deleted the image in their presence. either way the photos are a way of making contact with people i don't share any spoken language.
