When the feeling of satisfaction is presented as a merit for something done by someone else or for one's own achievement, that is the good Pride that the C/Emotions & Feelings community invites us to share in these first days of the month.
This is the kind side of pride that tells us that by recognizing and valuing the achievements of others and our own merits, our self-esteem and self-confidence are present in a balanced percentage that allows us to recognize in others and in ourselves. But, if that self-esteem and self-confidence are present in excess, pride begins to cross the line to the negative side and of which we will have the opportunity to share at the end of the month.
I had never before stopped to compare positive and negative pride, I always determined them separately, but this proposal seems very interesting to me because with it I can see which of the two is more present in me.
It strikes me that as we anticipate the verb, the concept of the word changes, BE PROUD.
I also noticed that the opposite quality of pride (negative) is humility, however we are humble when we recognize in others and in ourselves, having a more open, flexible and receptive attitude, which are characteristics of pride (positive). So I AM NOT HUMBLE when I AM PROUD, but when I AM PROUD humility appears in me... interestingly, PRIDE IS A POWERFUL AND PULSANT EMOTION.
Cuando el sentimiento de satisfacción se presenta como un mérito por algo realizado por otra persona o por algún logro propio, ese es el Orgullo bueno y del que nos invita a compartir la comunidad C/Emotions & Feelings en estos primeros días del mes.
Esta es la cara amable del orgullo que nos dice que al reconocer y valorar los logros de otros y los méritos propios, nuestra autoestima y autoconfianza están presentes en un porcentaje equilibrado que nos permite reconocer en el otro y en nosotros mismos. Pero, si esa autoestima y autoconfianza se presenta en exceso, ya el orgullo comienza a cruzar la raya del lado negativo y del cual tendremos oportunidad de compartir a final de mes.
Nunca antes me había detenido a comparar el orgullo positivo y negativo, siempre los determinaba por separado, pero esta propuesta me parece muy interesante porque con ella puedo ver cuál de los dos está más presente en mí.
Me llama la atención que según anticipemos el verbo, el concepto de la palabra cambia, ESTAR ORGULLOSO o SER ORGULLOSO.
También me llamo la atención que la cualidad contraria del orgullo (negativo) es la humildad, sin embargo somos humildes al reconocer en el otro y en nosotros, tener una actitud más abierta, flexible y receptivas, que son características del orgullo (positivo). Entonces NO SOY HUMILDE cuando SOY ORGULLOSA, pero cuando ESTOY ORGULLOSA aparece la humildad en mí… interesante, EL ORGULLO ES UNA EMOCION PODEROSA Y PULSANTE.
Applying the verb estar, I feel proud when I obtain an achievement that I have been working for and that leaves me with great joy, when I can say that I am able to reach a goal or overcome an obstacle.
I am proud of myself every time I complete a study, because to complete a university degree or training involves effort, time, dedication and when we like what we do and we achieve the goal, which is to finish successfully, for me it is a source of pride. I have paid for all my studies with the product of my work, my parents could not afford a private university and since I was a teenager I had to work to pay for it, that taught me to work for what I want and that has been the case in many of the things I have achieved in my life.
Doing what I like, sharing with those I love, being where I feel good, are decisions that often are not easy to achieve, we are in a society that consumes us in appearance and we leave aside what in essence really fills us. I like to climb the mountain, for that I must be in shape if I want to reach the highest peak, I am proud of my progress, because every time I climb and I have more stamina.
¿Cuándo me he sentido orgullosa?
Aplicando el verbo estar, me siento orgullosa cuando obtengo un logro por el cual he estado trabajando y que me deja una gran alegría, cuando puedo decir que soy capaz de alcanzar una meta o superar un obstáculo.
Estoy orgullosa de mí las veces que culmino algún estudio, porque realizar una carrera universitaria o una formación implica esfuerzo, tiempo, dedicación y cuando nos gusta lo que hacemos y logramos alcanzar la meta, que es terminar con éxito, para mí es motivo de orgullo. Todos mis estudios los he costeado con el producto de mi trabajo, mis padres no podían pagarme una universidad privada y me toco desde adolescente trabajar para pagarlo, eso me enseño a trabajar por lo que quiero y así ha sido en muchas de las cosas que he alcanzado en mi vida.
Hacer lo que me gusta, compartir con quien quiero, estar donde me siento bien, son decisiones que muchas veces no son fáciles de lograr, estamos en una sociedad que nos consume en apariencia y dejamos a un lado lo que en esencia realmente nos llena. Me gusta subir a la montaña, para eso debo estar en forma si quiero llegar al pico más alto, me siento orgullosa de mi progreso, porque cada vez que subo y tengo más resistencia.
When I overcome some obstacle that does not allow me to move forward and when I have the courage to say yes or no to some situation. When I made the decision to quit the job that for more than 16 years had been my permanent income, even knowing that the country and personal conditions were not the most favorable, I assumed the responsibility of the consequences that this would incur, the economic and emotional instability, because it has a limit and learning to value ourselves as people and to value our health, our life, that is priceless, so it was a brave decision of which I am very proud, also that even after so long I still think it was a wise choice.
Cuando supero algún obstáculo que no me permite avanzar y cuando tengo el coraje de decir sí o no a alguna situación. Cuando tome la decisión de renunciar al empleo que por más de 16 años había sido mi ingreso permanente, aun sabiendo que las condiciones del país y personales no eran las más favorables, asumí la responsabilidad de las consecuencias que esto incurriría, la inestabilidad económica y emocional, porque tiene un límite y aprender a valorarnos como personas y a valorar nuestra salud, nuestra vida, eso no tiene precio, por eso fue una decisión valiente de la cual me siento muy orgullosa, además que aun después de tanto tiempo sigo pensando que fue una elección acertada.
From my parents, who being from very poor families, managed to get ahead and even from their families the only ones who had university degrees were them. I am proud of their perseverance, managing to guide their daughters and thanks to them, we are what we are today.Thank you parents.
¿Y de quien estoy orgullosa?
De mis padres, que siendo de familias muy pobres, lograron salir adelante e incluso de sus familias los únicos que tuvieron carreras universitarias fueron ellos. Para mí un gran ejemplo de superación, estoy orgullosa de su perseverancia, logrando encaminar a sus hijas y que gracias a ellos, nosotras somos lo que somos hoy día. Gracias padres.

My sister Zuly is where she wants to be, doing what she wants to do, that is a great example to follow. De mis hermanas, que han logrado sus metas y siguen trabajando en seguir sus sueños, deseos, objetivos, siempre desde el amor y la unión familiar. Mi hermana Zuly está donde quiere estar, haciendo lo que quiere hacer, eso es un gran ejemplo a seguir. Mi hermana @yamilar04 que está iniciando en hive con algo que desde pequeña he escuchado que le gusta… y son las letras, escribir y ver que ese deseo o sueño se ha convertido en una realidad gracias a esta plataforma, verla haciendo lo que le gusta, entusiasmada y con muy buenos resultados, me emociona y enorgullece porque salió de su zona de confort para ser quien realmente quiere ser, te amo hermana.
Every triumph, every achievement and every obstacle that my daughter overcomes fills me with pride, to see how she strives to do the things she likes and enjoy them, recognizing her potential. As a mom I always support her, when I listen to her singing, see her drawings and her crafts, this inspires me to write more about her and how proud I feel... for sure you will see something in my blog later.
Cada triunfo, cada logro y cada obstáculo que supera mi hija me llena de orgullo, ver como se esmera en hacer las cosas que le gusta y disfrutarlas, reconociendo su potencial. Como mama siempre la apoyo, cuando la escucho cantando, veo sus dibujos y sus manualidades, esto me inspiro a escribir más sobre ella y lo orgullosa que me siento… de seguro verá algo en mi blog más adelante.
A friend of whom I feel proud.
An interesting anecdote was the day my friend @yadiramelgar published her book Influencer with Purpose (Influencer con Propósito), that day I was so excited, so happy, I was jumping for joy. I remember it was at the Colegio San Ignacio in Caracas - Venezuela, and as I took the subway to the place, I had to walk about 20 blocks, with my high shoes, but no matter what, I went and arrived. How could I miss that? Never. When I saw her telling her story and commenting about her book, I felt so proud of her that my heart was racing faster and faster. Her accomplishment has been an inspiration to me, it motivates me and tells me that we can achieve our dreams when we put action to what we want. Thank you my friend.
Una amiga de la que me siento orgullosa.
Una anécdota interesante fue el día que mi amiga @yadiramelgar público su libro Influencer con Propósito, ese día estaba tan emocionada, tan contenta, que brincaba de alegría. Recuerdo que fue por el Colegio San Ignacio en Caracas – Venezuela, y como me traslade en el metro hasta el lugar, tenía que caminar como 20 cuadras, con mis zapatos altos, pero no importa me fui y llegue. ¿Cómo me iba a perder eso? Jamás. Al verla contando su historia y comentando a cerca de su libro, me sentí tan orgullosa de ella que el corazón se aceleraba cada vez más. Su logro que para mí ha sido una inspiración, me motiva y me dice que si se puede alcanzar esos sueños cuando le ponemos acción a lo que queremos. Gracias amiga.

Positive pride is necessary and brings us many satisfactions, particularly the mere fact of writing these lines I feel happy reliving each of the moments reported. To feel proud of my existence and my achievements, to feel proud of others and to feel proud of my land, of my country, in all we give each other good news.
El orgullo positivo es necesario y nos trae muchas satisfacciones, particularmente el solo hecho de estar escribiendo estas líneas me siento feliz reviviendo cada uno de los momentos relatados.
