How I wish we made it to finals in this year's community football tournament.

Hello friends, I believe we all are good and are bubbling smiles. I wish to marshal my today's publication in response to the football competition in my local area as I believe you would love reading cheers!

The year is almost over and everyone is anticipating a good turn come 2023, well! I believe it's going to be better than 2022 despite anything.

That being said, I hail from the eastern part of Nigeria and we'd love football like the priests had loved entering the adyta. The sixteen villages in my local area has a professional team in charge of program planning and all that.

This year has been a wonderful year and our team of professionals gave the thought to set another football competition which was first played in 2019 after which the COVID obstructed and now, the competition has begun again and is almost at the finish.

This year's league started on 18th of December with 4 groups made up of 4 villages each. Nonetheless, we're done with the group stages and we were able to qualify with a few other teams.

But unfortunately, we've been knocked out of the league at the knockout stage because of the poor performance of our goal keeper where our opponent gained advantage over my team by scoring a goal.

It's quite appalling as all my teammates felt so bad about the loss and we can't turn the tide again till the next competition gracefully.

During the first tournament, we came second after conceding a goal at the final stage from our opponent and this time we really played to get to the final stage as to lift the trophy but luck played against us and we can't just say we didn't play professionally but the case is that we're out of the game oh no!!

Well football they say is a game of luck as the best team can either win or lose despite whichever team you're playing against.

Well! I'm juxtaposed between laughter and gloom but either way, all is well because we performed incredibly at the group stage as we topped our group by 7 points and 4 goals where I scored 2 but a silly mistake by our goalkeeper has cost us the trophy as we were determined to lift it this season. Oh! how I wish we made it to finals smiles.

Conclusion

The fact is that we are living in a world of probability and a place where events cannot be reversed despite how hard you try as you can only make amends as to mitigate against further unwanted occurrences.

Well! I never believed we would have been out of the tournament by now but all the same, all hope isn't lost as there are better days ahead.

Finally, I must appreciate all our lovely international players who've been making it big over there because in a real sense, it's not easy to play football to possibly become a good footballer that can be known.

I would be drawing the curtain here in response to my feelings regarding the tournament, cheers to all lovers of football bye.
