This is my work for the Pixelart contest! In this week it touched the theme of reptiles, and I found a snake with a very beautiful skin and decided to take it as inspiration.
I thought about taking the shape and colors to create a pattern.
Este es mi trabajo para el concurso de Pixelart! En esta semana tocó el tema de reptiles, y me encontré con una serpiente con una piel muy hermosa y decidi tomarla como inspiración.
Se me ocurrió tomar la forma y los colores para crear un patrón.
I tell you that this is the first time i participate, and it was really a complicated challenge since i had no idea how to work with pixels and I had to erase and start over many times! But in the end i was happy with the result and with time i know that i will be perfecting the technique and learning from my colleagues.
Les cuento que esta es la primera vez que participo, y realmente fue un reto complicado ya que no tenía idea de cómo trabajar con pixeles y tuve que borrar y comenzar de nuevo muchas veces! Pero al final quedé contenta con el resultado y con el tiempo sé que iré perfeccionando la técnica y aprendiendo de mis compañeros.
The first thing I did was to open a new file in Photoshop with a size of 100x100 pixels, so I could see them. Then, with the line and column selection tool I selected the ones I wanted to shade and filled them, guiding me from the Photoshop background.
In another layer, I prepared a color gradient taking as a reference the image of the snake.
Lo primero que hice fue abrir un nuevo archivo en Photoshop con un tamaño de 100x100 pixeles, para poder verlos. Luego, con la herramienta de selección de lineas y columnas seleccioné las que quería sombrear y las rellené, guiándome del el fondo de Photoshop.
En otro capa, preparé una degradación de colores tomando de referencia la imágen de la serpiente.
The pixels that were near the vertices of the grid I filled them in, then I enlarged the canvas and copied the pattern 3 more times to be able to rotate it 45 degrees.
Los pixeles que estaban cerca de los vértices de la cuadricula los rellené, después agrandé el canvas y copié el patrón 3 veces más para poder girarlo 45 grados.
We cut out the leftovers, and we can place it in the size we want.
