WEMIX Network Aims to Fix Traditional Game Development Issues

WeMade is a South Korean game studio serving millions of users globally for over 20 years. They are a titan in the Asian gaming market making MMORPGs such as the series "The Legend of Mir". In 2019 the company announced developing WEMIX, a blockchain network for their collection of games.

The aim of WEMIX network is to integrate the capabilities of blockchain to their existing classic games. Right now a handful of titles are onboarded. One title is Mir 4, despite having poor Steam Reviews, is gaining many new players soley seeking crypto opportunities. In addition to adding blockchain uses for games, WeMade wants to maintain easy account creations. As an example, players just need Google authentication access to signup a gaming account with NFT uses. The setup is minimal which is their goal compared to other blockchain games. The titles on WEMIX network are usually played on mobile.

Being an established videogame studio, WEMIX offers valuable insights of blockchain gaming. The whitepaper of the WEMIX token mentions that videogame production has a vicious cycle. On the paper they explain that developers initially create a game that users consume too fast. Fast consumption feeds demand for new content that developers are expected to put out. The demand of rushed new content compounds the original game making it more complicated. The irony mentioned is that as more developer effort is put in the game's content the number of new users eventually decreases. The cycle is repeated for new videogames that are shortlived. All of these expired independent games become fragmented from eachother.

The solution a blockchain ecosystem offers is that videogames can thrive off of eachother. The nature of a blockchain maintains moveable assets between different games. This structure can keep the game community active much longer with less rushed content demands. Ultimately the developer can keep a videogame true to it's design without the rist of a poorly executed update. More focus can now be shifted to keeping a videogame stable and bug free which is fundamental for a quality game.

Basically developers aren't relying on constant sales of new game content as part of a videogame life cycle. There is less need for unnecessary game sequels. Instead of a competetive scene between independent games, there can be a collaborative community. All of these potential successes with blockchain gaming is making WeMade to take a strong bet with the WEMIX network.
