My Ego Through the Roof! :)

After everyone even remotely interested in gaming on Hive started playing Rising Star, I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to join the crowd as well.

What can I say? I finally gave in after seeing a sort of walk-through video in which @ph1102 gave some tips to @achim03, who was also late to the party, but not as late as I am.

The game seemed quite interesting after all, I just wish I had joined it a long time ago, but I was stubborned and didn't try it until a few days ago.

Actually, today I reached level 15 (16 now), and that's the level when the egometer shows up on Rising Star.

When it first showed up, I had an ego of over 60%, lol! For those who aren't playing yet, the ego is a balance between the number of fans and the skill level. If you have a higher number of fans (including temporary drunks) than skill, your ego level is higher, and it affects the STARBITS rewards, which go down.

And ego of 60% like I had is enourmous. It should be close to 0%, but at least below 10% at higher ranks, I heard @ph1102 saying.

So I bought some skill-giving cards + made 2 skill missions today which brought my ego to zero. Which is pretty cool!

What I see, however, is that every standard mission (and probably others too) now give a permanent ego boost too, besides the STARBITS and XP. Even at ego% zero. That adds to the pressure put by fans that needs to be balanced with skill. I didn't expect that, but I guess the first 15 levels were too easy.

The game is relatively passive, compared to Splinterlands for example. In Splinterlands you are hands-on in action (except for renting), while in Rising Star you launch a mission and wait (or rather do something else until it's over). If the mission is long enough, the distractions are not very often, but on 5-minute or 10-minute missions, you are pretty hands-on too, because you don't have much time to do anything else in-between missions. That's why I prefer longer missions, but I need more Cold Pizza Slices and to grow the number of fans/level to be able to play other missions.

If you're like me, and haven't joined the game until now, there's a referral link for Rising Star. I'll appreciate if you use it. Pay attention what account you use, multi-accounts are prohibited.

Writing this post from the 1UP tribe interface to try it out for the first time. Nice to see another tribe focused on gaming. Kudos to @flauwy for setting it up.
