Here's my 36th Splinterlands Guild Brawl Report for PIZZA 2 The Deep Dish. ๐โ๏ธ๐ก๏ธ
It's the โจ๐ โจGold Foil Chaos Legion Fray no.12โจ๐ โจ for the 19th week in a row for me.
Instead of listing out the results since week 1, I shall just tally up the total wins/losses from now on, as seen in the table below ๐. ๐๐๐

A series of good brawls followed by the inevitable crash down to earth. That seems to be a recurring story for me. The last brawl results were far from ideal as out of the 5 matches played, I won only 1 of them, with 2 draws and 2 losses.
Would it be the same again with the most recent brawl? ๐คฃ Historical performance is not indicative of the future, but so far, my results have trended with a series of good performances followed by bad ones. ๐ฐ
As usual, I make an extra effort to rent โจGold Foil Chaos Legionโจ cards that align with my daily focus during Guild Brawl days.
Hopefully Lady Luck continues to shine on me ๐๐๐ and I don't get too many weird ruleset combinations which will completely screw up my limited Gold Foil selection of cards. (๐คฃ yeah, that's how terrible I am, to have to rely on luck for my wins)
- Some thoughts I have about my exploits in the Gold Frays. ๐ญ๐ค
I feel like I'm winning because my opponent has even less Gold Foil cards available to him than I do. Personally, I find it slightly flattering to me. The teams I field are definitely not the absolute strongest, but more of what is available to me.
It also doesn't account for HOW I win some of the fights though. I've realised that a fair number of them are from opponents who just gave up and did not even face me in battle. โ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธ
My choice of picking up the Gold Foil frays is to simply give the Guild a better chance at accumulating more wins, seeing especially that IN THE PAST, many Gold Frays were left empty. Even if I were to lose everything and win just 1 match, it would definitely help in securing a better finishing position overall. ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
1493 merits at the moment. I can almost certainly expect another Gladius pack by the end of this week, short of a really terrible showing in the next Guild Brawl ๐ .
๐ค๐ป๐๐ค๐ป๐๐ค๐ป๐ Fingers crossed for a Gold Foil (Legendary!!!) I hope ๐คฃ๐ค for my future Gladius packs. (or any packs/rewards chest for that matter ๐)
I've joined the Pizza 2 Guild over at the PIZZA DISCORD and was introduced to the world of Guild Brawls in Splinterlands. It has been an interesting experience to say the least. ๐๐ฅณ๐
Guild Brawls are generally the same as Battles, but with some minor tweaks (of which I'll save for another day). Lets get right down to business as I analyze my brawls. ๐งโ๏ธ๐ก๏ธ
With all that said, lets FINALLY get down to a review of my battles ๐, or in some cases where my opponent fled ๐๐ป๐จ - non battles ๐จ.

WON.
A nice confidence booster for my first battle? A free win of sorts thanks to the opponent giving up before I even lifted a finger ๐.
The opponent FLED! ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป Yay? I guess. A win is a win - no matter how it comes about.
DRAW.
Well, this sucked. Some kind of bug in the system caused both me and my opponent to automatically surrender? I'm not too sure what happened on my opponent's end, but on my part, I submitted a team and it instantly showed this result. ๐ก
It seems I'm not alone though, as I saw a few other people in various discords complaining about this somewhat rare occurrence (and it wasn't just in guild brawls). Hopefully, the Splinterlands team finds out what's causing this and fixes it soon. ๐ค
WON.
This turned out to be a really close fight. I had actually expected it to be an easy win for me. I had underestimated the raw melee damage output that the Fire splinter is able to dish out if there is no armor on their targets.
As it was though, I eeked out just enough DPS to narrowly win the game with my Goblin Psychic being the last man standing.
Special mention goes to the Mycelic Morphoid who killed one unit with it's attack, AND removed 1 charge of the Holy Shield from the opponent and also did 2 damage with it's thorns, before dying. ๐คฃ That was definitely more than what I had expected from a mere 1 mana filler unit.
LOST.
I thought I had a good chance of winning. My Gargoya Scrapper and Chaos Agent was sitting behind to absorb the opponent's sneak/opportunity damage, which they did to perfection.
Unfortunately, the crucial turning point came when my Pelacor Arbalest missed one of it's attacks against the Merdaali Guardian. That resulted in it healing up the tank the next round and also my Arbalest dying to the Deeplurker. Had that not happened, the Deeplurker would have been facing my tank, unable to kill off my Arbalest which would be able to finish off the other units.
Such is life I guess. The finest of margins can result in a completely different fate. ๐ฑ๐ญ
๐๐๐My Overall Results๐๐๐
2 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw.
I can't say I'm too happy with the overall result. Given that I was pretty confident of winning that BUGGED "DRAW" since I managed to field my "A" team.
The loss was also completely the result of just A SINGLE DODGE!
Sigh. ๐ญ It could so easily have been a perfect 4 wins out of 4!
I can take some consolation in the fact that this was a marked improvement on the previous brawl though. So hopefully my "expected downturn" is done ๐.
I feel it's important that Guilds are able to fill out all the frays - even the significantly "harder" Gold ones. It is very likely that most guilds (at our level) skip the Gold frays completely, or are unable to even field a team if they've got no Gold Foil Summoners. This therefore leads to a better overall score.

The top 2 were out of everyone's leagues it seems, with a massive nearly 20 wins more than everyone else! ๐ฑ Unfortunately, we missed out on a podium standing by just 2 wins. (if only those 2 matches of mine were wins instead ๐)
