Well, as expected of any week that has an End of Season in the midst of it, a lot more activity is to be expected. I think I'm pretty used to it and seasoned by now. However, that still means quite a bit more to deal with than usual 😜. I'm sure everyone loves this part of the season the most as that means a chance to get a bonaza of prizes from the EOS Reward chests.
In the wider world of Splinterlands, we've had the launch of the LUX VEGA sale and also some sobering and bad news for the Splinterlands ecosystem as a whole.
But before I go into detail...
A brief introduction before I start though...
Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳
This is now the 52nd consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. Of course, this also marks another weekly giveaway! 🎉🥳🎊
No week goes by in Splinterlands without some news event happening though. And here's my pick of some of the most interesting ones in my opinion. 📰📰📰

Both my main and alt accounts finished the season in the Gold League as usual, albeit playing most of the season in Silver 1. This gives me the best value for rental spent in terms of competitiveness and EOS Rewards chests.
Unfortunately, my rewards this time round were DISMALLY TERRIBLE 😭. With an total chest value of $2+ and $1 respectively, I think this is the WORST rewards I've ever gotten. I guess this is just not my season. It looks like Lady Luck has completely abandoned me this time round 🤣. I hope she returns soon! 💔
My quest for more Gold Foil Legendary cards from my rewards chests continues on ("Greed is Good!" 😈). It's a 0.008% chance, at base level, to pull a legendary gold foil, in case you were wondering 😉. Here's to more jackpot strikes in the future (i hope) 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀.
My Tower Defense packs trading has been going really well though. I haven't had the time to calculate the exact numbers but the last week but I basically sold 125 packs and using those proceeds eventually rebought 187 packs 🤑📈. A net gain of 62 packs, which is about a 50% profit!
I do not really spend all those profits though and everything is reinvested back into placing (lower) bids for said packs again 😉. Therefore, it's a fluid situation which ensures that I extract maximum value from my holdings.
🏆💰🎁Splinterlands News🏆💰🎁
Lux Vega finally launched and each of them will cost 1 MILLION DEC 🤑😱. Unfortunately, this is only open to those who managed to get their hands on a special Splinterfest Las Vegas token, so I can count myself out of the running 😜.
This is the FIRST EVER Neutral Summoner in the game and she is basically an upgraded version of Kelya. I'm very sure we'll see a lot of her in the days ahead.

In other news (as referenced from the official announcement post link above), Splinterlands recently announced they were letting go of 45% of the current team. 😭 It seems like the Bear market and the recent earth shattering collapse of FTX has darkened the outlook for the crypto industry. 💸
In order to protect and ensure the long survival of Splinterlands through what is expected to be an extended Bear phase, some drastic measures had to be taken unfortunately. Whilst I do agree that this is a positive step to safeguard the future of the game, it is still something that no one likes to see happen. 😭
Weekly Chaos Legion Sales Tracker
And now, for an update on the number of Chaos Legion packs sold thus far. About 33.4k sold since last week. That is an amazing sales figure! 😄
Here's the current count (as of the moment I'm writing this post) of the number of packs sold, and we're 641k away from the 11 million mark! Which also means everyone has a chance to get in now and grab more packs for the remaining airdrops! 😜
