A pencil holds the power of education, art, creativity, self-expression, imagination, and emotion. Kindness is shown through rocks adorned with pencils, symbolizing love, gratitude, and respect.
In the Hindu calendar, every day is special but some days are super special. Last week was very special because it was the full moon, known as GURUPORNIMA. This day is dedicated to showing gratitude to all the gurus (teachers) who have given us knowledge for every stage of life.
I believe the first guru is nature, as it teaches us how to breathe for the first time after coming out from the mother's womb. The second guru is, of course, the mother, and the third guru is the father. After all these gurus, we learn something from them.
My father is my first art teacher, and I am very proud of him. He was a small building contractor and he used to draw his plans using his pencil, scale, and eraser. Since I started school, I have been watching him and making copied drawings on the floor or wall with available chalk or charcoal. He paid attention to my activities and bought me a pencil. My first pencil in my life. I remember it was a nice gold color with black lines on it, and I loved it and never gave it to anybody except my brother.
While cleaning the computer last week, I found some photos from before I took them for a photo quest, and I came across those pencil photos. I thought to just draw one on the rock, the natural canvas, kind for to draw and paint some childhood memories and give my gratitude to my first educational guru, my father. He passed long back when I was a teenager but he has taught me a lot about life.
This kindness rock is the gratitude for my Father my guru.
The procedure is simple.
I used whatever color I have and the rock which I feel is good for paint on it.
Even though I painted it in white it showed blue the color for kindness.
I use a pencil to make a sketch just to know where to start.
We said BABA to father.
