Proceso paso a paso:

ENGLISH VERSION

My friends of this tremendous community....

I have had some situations with my truck and on this occasion I will tell you how I found the fault or problem that could occur if I did not pay attention in time to what I was perceiving through my sense of hearing.

A few weeks ago while driving I started to feel a particular noise that caught my attention. Those who have cars know that despite being a machine that depends on the driver, this is part of one as an implement of us.

And I say this because the senses are part of what the car may be presenting. Whether it is the smell or the feel of the steering wheel when we start to feel a strange vibration.

This is how the sense of hearing perceives any unusual sound, an uncommon sound that alerts you that something is happening that you should pay attention to. Since it is a machine, when it presents the definitive failure it can cause an accident that can risk your life or that of your family.

On this occasion, as I had already told you, I began to feel a strange noise when the car was moving forward, and by sharpening my hearing I knew that the strange sound was coming from the lower part.

For a moment I thought about the possibility that one of the brake pads might have come loose, but the sound was translating into a characteristic grinding noise of metal on metal. So I concluded the possibility of a bearing coming from the front end or the rear transmission.

I went to check the adjustment of the rear brakes and when I lifted the truck by removing a rubber, I realized that the grinding noise was due to the failure of a bearing located on the rear drive shaft.

So I set out to technically locate the mechanic to begin the process of disassembling the axle tips. Since I decided to change the two bearings on both sides of the axle tips.

The tools used were:

Cross wrench
Hydraulic jack
8, 10, 14 and 7/16 mm wrenches respectively.
Pliers

For the disassembly of the bearings, the axle tips had to be taken to a specialist workshop with a hydraulic press to remove the bearings and reassemble them.

The process is not complicated at all, only that one must have knowledge of brake system disassembly.

Step by step process:

It starts by lifting the car from the center, where the rear transmission is, it is lifted until two supports or donkeys can be placed to then leave on them all the weight of the car.

The tires are disassembled by removing the nuts that hold the tires with the crus wrench.

The drums are removed giving strong blows to loosen them.

The belt locks are removed with the pliers, there are two locks.

The pipe connected to the brake cylinder is disconnected with the 8 mm wrench and a plug is placed so that the brake hose does not leak.

The brakes are disassembled removing absolutely the bands with their springs.

With the 14 mm wrench the ABS sensor is disconnected.

With the 7/16 mm wrench remove the 4 nuts that hold the base of the axle tip. And with pull the complete piece is removed from the shaft tip.

The parts with the new bearings were taken to the hydraulic press where the damaged parts were removed and the new ones were mounted.

Once the bearings were replaced, the process of reassembling the truck began. The shaft ends were placed in the transmission tunnel and the 4 nuts were tightened until they were very well tightened.

Once the axle tips were in place, we proceeded to reassemble the brake system, placing the bands and their locks, the hand brake hose, the pipe that is connected to the cylinder and we finished placing the drum.

Then the brake system was bled to remove any air that might remain in the pipe and finish by adjusting the band system so that the bands would be adjusted.

Finally the tires were placed and adjusted very well so that the truck was fully operational.
