Understand the Difference Between 2 Stroke and 4 Stroke Outboard Engines

How are you all hive-motor lovers, for my post this time, we will discuss about machines that work in water, namely outboard engines on boats.

Because where I live, the means of transportation used by residents is through the river, this is due to land routes or roads that are not available, so the community has made the river a road from the past until now.

To run a boat, of course, an engine is needed as a propulsion, and the type of engine that is most widely used by residents is an engine from the Yamaha manufacturer.

As we know the name of the machine will of course get damaged by various factors if it is not cared for properly.

I still remember that in the past 2 stroke outboard motors were mostly used by residents and also traditional fishermen, this is because 2 stroke outboard engines were very light and had good throttle response. While the 4 stroke engine offers a cleaner and smoother performance. When environmental standards have changed and seafarers are looking for clean and efficient engines.

The engine with the Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system makes the fuel mixture injected into the air of each cylinder before it reaches the intake valve. The fuel spray then cools the intake valve, increasing evaporation before it reaches the combustion chamber. The fuel and air mixture is then ignited by the spark plug. These Electronic Fuel-injected outboard engines require no fuel priming, and they have low emissions. They are also quick to start and have lower fuel consumption without sacrificing performance.

Performance Difference Between 2 Stroke and 4 Stroke Engine.

DFI 2 stroke lighter than 4 stroke with the same strength.

The 4 stroke outboard engine is quieter than the 2 stroke, but as technology developed this difference began to shrink.

2 stroke outboard engines generally provide a more powerful hole shot.

You need to know on 2 stroke outboard engines that are released now using the Evinrude DFI which functions to inject fuel 2x faster than standard direct injection, and even adjusts the delivery of fuel and oil-gas mixtures as needed. They're as smooth and nearly silent as a 4-stroke engine while retaining the more traditional 2-stroke power, there may be a few downsides as well as it emits a bit of smoke.
