Hi #HiveMotor community, today I want to tell you about a very useful and inexpensive tool that allows me to diagnose engine error codes, which come from the electrical sensors of any vehicle that has an ODB2 connection. It has multiple functions that allow you to know the performance of the vehicle, and gives you guidelines on what to do to solve them.
Saludos comunidad de HiveMotor, hoy deseo contarle acerca de una herramienta muy útil y económica que me permite diagnosticar códigos de error del motor, que provienen de los sensores eléctricos de cualquier vehículo que posea conexión ODB2. Tiene múltiples funciones que te permiten conocer el rendimiento del vehículo, y te da directrices de que hacer para solucionarlas.
Its name is ELM327 and it comes in two versions, one to connect through the Bluetooth protocol and the other through Wifi. I find it more useful to be through Wifi and decided to purchase this one.
Su nombre es ELM327 y viene en dos versiones, una para conectarte a través del protocolo Bluetooth y otra a través de Wifi. Me parece más útil que sea a través de Wifi y decidí adquirir esta.
Functions
It has several functions, but so far the ones that I know and have been able to use are the following:
• Monitors engine RPM.
• Intake Manifold Pressure (MAP).
• Air flow range (MAF).
• Oxygen sensor (O2) voltage reading.
• Fuel flow and pressure (FTP).
• Air intake temperature (IAT).
• Vehicle speed (TSS).
• Reads, corrects, and clears vehicle engine diagnostic error codes.
• Turn off the CHECK ENGINE light to clear DTC error codes.
Posee varias funciones, pero hasta el momento las que conozco y he posido utilizar son las siguientes:
• Monitorea las RPM del motor.
• Presión del múltiple de admisión (MAP).
• Rango del flujo de aire (MAF).
• Lectura del voltaje del sensor de oxígeno (O2).
• Flujo y presión del combustible (FTP).
• Temperatura en la toma de aire (IAT).
• Velocidad del vehículo (TSS).
• Lee, corrige y elimina los códigos de errores de diagnóstico del motor del vehículo.
• Apaga la luz del CHECK ENGINE para borrar los códigos de error DTC.
How to use
I want to show you how I use it with one of my vehicles, this time erasing the Check Engine signal. The first thing I do is to locate the ODB2 connector on the car, which is located exactly under the dashboard on the driver's side.
Deseo mostrarles como la utilizo con uno de mis vehículos, esta vez borrando la señal de Check Engine. Lo primero que hago es ubicar el conector ODB2 del carro, que se encuentra exactamente debajo del tablero del lado del conductor.
When connected, it is energized thanks to the car's battery, and immediately emits the Wi-Fi signal. It is not necessary to pass an interrupt to do it, just connecting it is enough.
Al conectarlo se energiza gracias a la batería del carro, e inmediatamente emite la señal Wifi. No es necesario pasar algún interrupto para que lo haga, solo con conectarlo basta.
The next thing is with our phone to search in the options, the available Wifi networks, sometimes it is necessary to update several times until the phone detects it to just connect. I must clarify that it is not necessary to do it through another network, the ELM327 emits its own Wifi signal.
Lo siguiente es con nuestro teléfono buscar en las opciones, las redes Wifi disponibles, a veces es necesario actualizar varias veces hasta que el teléfono la detecta para solo conectarnos. Debo aclarar que no es necesario hacerlo a través de otra red, el ELM327 emite su propia señal Wifi.

Once connected to the Wifi signal we must have downloaded the Infocar application, which for me is the most complete, you can also use another one called Torque, but in my case it was not possible to connect to the device with this one.
Ya estando conectados a la señal Wifi debemos tener descargada la aplicación Infocar que para mí es la más completa, también se puede utilizar otra llamada Torque, pero en mi caso no me fue posible con esta conectarme al dispositivo.

The interface of the Infocar application is very friendly and quite intuitive, it comes in several languages, which I find very useful, because the technical terms are easier to identify in our native language. Immediately we can see the monitoring options of the engine gauges, vehicle diagnostics, dashboard, fuel details, driving record, among others.
La interfaz de la aplicación Infocar es muy amigable y bastante intuitiva, viene en varios idiomas, lo que me parece muy útil, porque los términos técnicos son más fáciles identificarlos en nuestro idioma natal. De inmediato podemos ver las opciones de vigilancia de los indicadores del motor, el diagnostico del vehículo, el tablero de instrumentos, detalles sobre el combustible, registro de conducción, entre otros.
To eliminate the Check Engine signal we must select the vehicle diagnostic option, select read and then delete. Next, I share a short video that I recorded so that you can see how the process of eliminating this signal is, and also how the speed and rpm are recorded.
Para eliminar la señal de Check Engine debemos seleccionar la opción de diagnostico de vehículo, seleccionamos leer y posteriormente borrar. A continuación, les comparto un corto video que grabe para puedan ver como es el proceso de eliminar esta señal, y también como se registran la velocidad y los rpm.
