Que gusto saludarles nuevamente amigos de la comunidad de HiveMotors, tiempo sin pasar por acá, lo que es malo en un sentido por el tiempo transcurrido, pero positivo porque los carros se han portado bien y no me había visto en la necesidad de hacer alguna reparación, hasta ahora.
Result that my Chery Arauca some time ago, measuring the motor oil before using it as usual, with the passing of the days I noticed that the oil level decreased. At first couldn't tell what the reason was and where the loss was because it did not leave a stain on the floor, or could notice drops of oil falling down the engine.
Irresponsibly I let it pass and after a while the situation worsened, the motor began to spill oil from the damper, and from the valve covers. It turns out that the loss at first was due to the valve cover.
Resulta que mi Chery Arauca hace algún tiempo atrás, midiendo el aceite de motor antes de usarlo como de costumbre, con el paso de los días note que el nivel de aceite disminuía. Al principio no podía notar cual era la razón y en donde estaba la perdida porque no dejaba mancha en el piso, o se notaban gotas de aceite cayendo por el motor.
De manera irresponsable lo deje pasar y al cabo de un tiempo la situación empeoro, empezó a derramar aceite por el damper, y por la tapa de las válvulas. Resulta que la perdida en un principio era por la tapa de las válvulas.
Not having all the tools and time, I decided to take the car to my trusted mechanic for this repair. He changed the damper, camshaft and crankshaft front end caps, as well as the valve cover. After 2 days he had already finished the job and sent me to pick it up.
Por no contar con todas las herramientas y el tiempo, decidí llevar al carro a mi mecánico de confianza para esta reparación. Se cambiaron las estoperas del damper, del árbol de levas, y la delantera del cigüeñal, además de la tapa de las válvulas. Al cabo de 2 días ya había terminado el trabajo y me mando a buscarlo.

I spent a day rolling the car and evaluating if the leaks were still there and everything was fine. The next day when I went to start the car, to my surprise, it turned off as soon as I put the gear in gear, it couldn't hold the minimum revolutions. I started to remove the spark plug wires while it was on to see if any cylinder failed, and indeed 1 and 3 were not working, so I decided to remove the spark plugs.
Pase un día rodando el carro y evaluando si las fugas aun estaban y todo quedo muy bien. AL siguiente día cuando fui a encender el carro, para mi sorpresa, se apagaba apenas colocaba la marcha, no aguantaba las mínimas revoluciones. Empecé a retirar los cables de las bujías mientras estaba encendido a ver si algún cilindro fallaba, y en efecto el 1 y 3 no estaban trabajando, por eso decidí retirar las bujías.
I decided to remove all the spark plugs and clean them, for that I bought some small wire brushes and used a ratchet with the respective spark plug die, but not without first marking each of the wires, using liquid paper so that it is not easily erased, and thus at the time of placing them again, do it in the correct cylinder and there are no failures.
Decidí sacar todas las bujías y limpiarlas, para eso compre unos pequeños cepillos de alambre y utilice un ratchet con el respectivo dado de bujías, pero no sin antes marcar cada uno de los cables, utilizando liquid paper para que no se borre fácilmente, y así al momento de colocarlos nuevamente, hacerlo en el cilindro correcto y no haya fallas.

To my surprise both spark plugs were very full of oil, because the mechanic forgot to clean this part well because they are deep in the engine block, so little by little the oil was leaking until it reached the spark plug electrode and therefore did not give the spark. I decided to remove all at once to clean them and also take advantage of the opportunity to remove the carbon that sticks to them.
Para mi sorpresa ambas bujías estaban muy llenas de aceite, debido a que el mecánico olvido limpiar bien esta parte porque se encuentran bien profundas en el bloque del motor, por eso poco a poco se fue colando el aceite hasta llegar al electrodo de la bujía y por lo tanto no dar la chispa. Decidí sacarlas todas de una vez para limpiarlas y aprovechar también quitarles el carbón que se les pega.
After removing them all place them in a little gasoline to remove as much oil and dirt as possible, and then by a rasp and wire brushes remove all the carbon that is created on the electrode of each of the spark plugs.
Después de retirarlas todas las coloque en un poco de gasolina para retirar todo el aceite y suciedad posible, y luego por una lima y los cepillos de alambre retirar todo el carbón que se crea en el electrodo de cada una de las bujías.
After spending almost an hour brushing the spark plugs, they were sufficiently clean of oil and carbon to give the necessary spark and not present any more failures.
Luego de dedicar casi una hora cepillando las bujías quedaron lo suficientemente limpias de aceite y de carbón para dar la chispa necesaria y que no presenten más fallas.

After installing the spark plugs again and putting the cables in their place, I took half a liter of gasoline and began to wash the engine, to remove any trace of oil and dirt, here you can see the difference of the Carter as it was after cleaning, and also how the valve cover was left.
Luego de instalar las bujías nuevamente y colocar los cables en su lugar, tomé medio litro de gasolina y empecé a lavar el motor, para quitar cualquier rastro de aceite y suciedad, acá puede ver la diferencia del Carter como quedo luego de la limpieza, y también como quedo la tapa válvulas.
In the end the car stopped failing and can move forward with tranquility again, however, I keep checking every day if any other drop of oil appears, and I think after a few days to remove the spark plugs again to finish to rule out that there are no leaks in the valve cover, so soon I will tell you how it went.
Al final el carro se le quito la falla y puede andar con tranquilidad nuevamente, sin embargo, no dejo de chequear todos los días si aparece alguna otra gota de aceite y pienso nuevamente al cabo de unos días retirar las bujías otra vez para terminar de descartar que no hay fugas en la tapa de las válvulas, así que pronto les contare como me fue.
