Senior tennis player Venus Williams lost in the second round of the Australian Open to Italian Sara Errani 1-6 0-6 due to an injury to her leg.

The seven Grand Slam winner who is now 40 years old started the match with a left knee injury and during the match had to experience the bad luck again when he sprained his right ankle while going to hit the first set.

Instead of withdrawing from the match, Venus returned to the field after receiving treatment from a medic on her leg.

However, these conditions made him in poor form and had to end with Errani's victory in the match held at the Melbourne Arena. Venus left the field to warm applause from the few spectators who attended the arena.

In the next round, Errani, who is a qualifier, will meet Taiwanese Hsieh Su-wei, who previously defeated the 2019 US Open champion Bianca Andreescu 6-3, 6-2 this morning.
