I like Arsenal. But you, do you like Arsenal? Or just Arsenal with Trophies?
- Dennis Bergkamp
Hello everyone, Happy new week! Ahead of tonight's English Premier League between Arsenal and Crystal palace I find myself questioning my loyalty to my club Arsenal.
How Did I Start Supporting Arsenal?
From where I come, as a kid, you don't choose a club especially if your parents are soccer lovers. My Mother was a Strong Gunners fan, with Thierry Henry, her favourite player.
And my Dad? Yeah, he was a soccer fan but like you probably guessed he didn't have a club and always support clubs Arsenal plays against, teasing my mum every time Arsenal loses. So yeah! It was a pretty easy choice to join Arsenal FC supporters. I was 7 when I Started shouting "Gunners for life"
How did My Friends Take It?
Notably, most of my friends were either supporting Chelsea or Manchester United. And it was a bit under the radar at first that I supported arsenal, not until a school football match where we had to play with our jerseys, and yes, I came with an Arsenal jersey my mom bought for me. Even after scoring 2goals in my class win, questions about my Arsenal jersey wasn't something I escaped. I had a lot of choices to pick from, At least I could have just said "My mom bought it for me without asking" but instead I said, "guys I'm an Arsenal fan". Those words I didn't know I will have to repeat almost every time in my life.
The Ugly Truth
Being An Arsenal fan has been a huge thing for me, I face alot of mockery due to the fact my club hasn't won a European trophy in their history and it's also more than a decade since we won the League Title. All I boasted off was that Arsenal has never been relegated and Also the 2003-2004 unbeaten season in which we earned the name "The Invincibles".
It got tougher as I became a teenager. And at some point, I told everyone that teases me that I no longer watch football. That was partly true as I found so much love in Tennis🎾 and the NBA🏀. (Story For Another Day) But I still felt bad when I saw a defeat on the scoreboard for Arsenal.
Writing this now makes me realise how much emotions I have invested into supporting Arsenal, We Fans I've been called a lot of names. I once heard "there is no more patient man in the world than a man that supports Arsenal".It's so funny how much hope I still have in my mid-table club. In the build-up to writing this post, I commented on @leedsunited prediction post saying Arsenal would win tonight 3-0. Don't ask me why because I don't know.
If Arsenal has millions fans, know that I'm one of them, if arsenal has just one fan, know that I'm that fan, If Arsenal has no fan, Just know I'm dead.

Conclusion
There is always a reason why you support your favourite team. Can you tell us why? Or maybe I should tag another Arsenal Fan. @belemo will you like to share your arsenal Story sometime?
