Last night's disaster movie featured the once-mighty Barcelona who got hammered by Benfica in their second 3-0 loss of the campaign, their first coming against Bayern Munich a few weeks ago.
Koeman must be under some serious pressure now, no defense, almost bankrupt and in the worst state in their recent history, Barcelona will need to quickly get their act together if they want to save their season and go some way to rebuilding their destroyed reputation.
Sadly, scum managed a win after a 95th minute Ronaldo goal after being under the cosh somewhat for the entire match. I did feel sorry for Villarreal.
Anyway, it's back to the Europa League tonight for the game between...
Flying high in the Premier League, this will be West Ham's first European night at home since 2006 and I'd expect them to be fully fired up and ready to take on a Rapid Vienna side who are struggling in their domestic league and have lost four out of their last five games in all competitions.
West Ham will have been buoyed by their win at Leeds last Saturday which came at the cost of an injured right-back, Vladimir Coufal. Ryan Fredericks will also miss the game through injury but apart from this pair, David Moyes will have a full squad to construct his starting eleven from.
Rapid Vienna will have to draw on all their European experience to overcome a West Ham side who currently lie 7th in the Premier League.
Rapid Vienna's most recent outing was a home game against Sturm Gratz which they got hammered by three goals to nil. A very heavy home defeat that left them in eleventh and second-bottom in the Austrian Bundesliga.
It's also relevant to note that they have not managed to keep a clean sheet in their last 14 away games.
Prediction: West Ham United 3 : 0 Rapid Vienna - First goal scorer: Declan Rice
The Small Print
In the first goalscorer competition, own goals do not count. In the correct score competition, it's the score after 90mins. Extra time and penalties do not count and the pot for each competition will roll over if there is no winner. If more than one person chooses the same first goal scorer or correct score, the prize is shared, and everyone gets a little upvote! It seems I also need to add, one entry per person. Don't forget the new rule that only people with a rep of 50 or above are eligible to enter unless they have been approved. The bonus will be added to any winnings ONLY if Leeds United win and/or Man U lose and all pay-outs will never exceed 50% of post pay-out. Other bonuses are paid out at my discretion.
And the Winners Were...
ANother day, another dollar. Hope everyone is well, good luck for tonight and thanks for playing along.
