I don't want to sound like a killjoy but it gladdens my heart to see De Jong and Kessie benched for Gavi and Pedri. Both of them could've joined other teams but they chose Barca, De Jong staying put despite being told in clear terms he needed to leave.
The only surprise here is the omission of Frank Kessie. That dude is a beast of a midfielder. Why swoop for him only to play Gavi and Pedri? Is benching De Jong political or tactical? Kessie and De Jong would've been a real handful for Madrid's midfielders yesterday.
