Bad day for North London yesterday. Let's leave it at that!
Liverpool struck a blow against Manchester City yesterday when they won their FA Cup semi-final which keeps them in the hunt for an incredible Quadruple.
I wonder what this will do psychologically to City but the team selection possibly showed that the FA Cup was not at the top of Pep Guardiola's priority list and the fact de Bruyne stayed on the bench after his injury scare in the Champions league was a big hint. Without Kyle Walker, City looked frail in the first half and Liverpool dominated and won the game but after the break, it could have been a whole different ball game as City fought back.
The full time whistle saved Liverpool as City began to dominate but it wasn't to be and with no injury worries and a full fit squad, you'd have to be a brave man not to bet against Liverpool taking all four titles!
Anyway, let's have a look at the second semi-final today, also taking place at Wembley between...
@nathen007's Prediction
On paper, this looks a little easier to predict and especially with Lukaku back in contention, it gives Chelsea a big chance to pull themselves together after the Champions League exit last week.
Palace will be hoping for a positive outcome on two late check-ups on the injured Tyrick Mitchell and Michael Olise and will be without their influential loan signing, Conor Gallagher who cannot face his registered club.
I won't write Palace off completely as experience counts and boss Patrick Viera is a five times winner as a player and has had decent season in charge with Palace lying in 13th, the fact they're not fighting relegation is a credit!
Even so, they've got no chance. Chelsea whacked Southampton for six last weekend and today could be another reactionary performance so goals should be expected.
Prediction: Chelsea 4 : 0 Crystal Palace - First goal scorer: Kai Havertz
Simply write the name of the FIRST GOALSCORER, the CORRECT SCORE AND the TIME OF THE FIRST GOAL as a comment. The competition closes 5 minutes before kick-off which is 13.30BST
Don't forget, you can't choose the same prediction as me!
VERY EARLY KICK-OFF!!!
In the first goal scorer competition, own goals do not count. In the correct score competition, it's the score after 90mins. Extra time and penalties do not count and the pot for each competition is fixed at 25K except the time of the first goal competition which rolls over daily starting at 1K. If more than one person chooses the same first goal scorer or correct score, the prize is shared, and everyone gets a little upvote! Don't forget, you can't choose the same prediction as me! It seems I also need to add, one entry per person. Don't forget new rule that only people with a rep of 50 or above are eligible to enter unless they have been approved. My game, my decision is final.
And the Winners were...
Nørgaard scored the first goal after 15 minutes and the game ended 1-2 and...
Congratulations to our only winner of the day, @alovely088 who takes 25000 tokens for getting the correct score thanks to Leeds boy Pontus Janssen popping up in the 5th minute of injury time with a goal and thus breaking the hearts of a couple of you who were sweating on a 1-1 scoreline!
No one got the first goal scorer or time of the first goal so that pot rises up again today!
