I'm back after decamping down to Koh Samui for a week and what an exciting weekend of football it was.
Firstly, our featured game, which as I expected, put Brighton to their stiffest test yet and which they failed miserably going down 4-1 to Man. City, and I'd have to say, they were poor and seemed a little overawed by the task, which is one thing you can't be when playing the big teams. The small teams need to use their fight and determination to get a result, and talking of LITTLE teams...
Scum 0 : 5 Liverpool. Oh such sweet joy, the best result of the season so far. It's Tuesday now and I'm still laughing. Clueless, bottleless and totally lacking in quality, Manchesters second team are heading for a deep dive down the table.
On that high note, let's turn to the EFL Cup tonight and a huge game...

Leeds turned in a much-improved performance at the weekend but only ended in a draw at home against Wolves were the most negative team I've seen play at Leeds, sitting on their lead and paying for it as Leeds pressed mercilessly and it ultimately cost them as we brought on the incredible Joe Gelhardt whose runs into the box earned us a penalty in injury time which was cooly taken under pressure by a much improved Rodrigo.
Tonight we will be buoyed on by that performance and absolutely hammer a Arsenal side who have blown hot and cold and who no doubt will be resting some of their 'top' players.
Sadly Raphina took a knock so will be out as well as Bamford and Ayling but I can see a gentle return for Kalvin Phillips and I'm sure Gelhardt will feature again as he is integrated into the first team and as a scouser with ice in his veins, will no doubt stay grounded despite all the plaudits coming his way in the press after his 30 minute, influential appearance on Saturday.
Arsenal...I don't care. They are stuffed. Sorry, not sorry @pusen lol ;-)

The Small Print
In the first goalscorer competition, own goals do not count. In the correct score competition, it's the score after 90mins. Extra time and penalties do not count and the pot for each competition will roll over if there is no winner. If more than one person chooses the same first goal scorer or correct score, the prize is shared, and everyone gets a little upvote! It seems I also need to add, one entry per person. Don't forget the new rule that only people with a rep of 50 or above are eligible to enter unless they have been approved. The bonus will be added to any winnings ONLY if Leeds United win and/or Man U lose and all pay-outs will never exceed 50% of post-pay-out. Other bonuses are paid out at my discretion.
And the winners were...
A returning Gundogan got the opener in their 4-1 win against Brighton so who correctly predicted those results.....Absolutely no one! Another cheap day for me then but no worries, an HBI share each are on their way to @hirohurl and @iamchuks, well-done boys!
