Another win for the Reds; Did liverpool hit good form at a good time?

Anyone that saw the game that was played this gameweek and in recent game weeks by Liverpool would be tempted to say that we've hit good form at a very good time. I dunno if I would say the same, but I love the sound of it.

Remember; In the last two gameweeks, we came back from 2 goals deficit to get a Draw against Arsenal. We secured the maximum point in our midweek fixture against Leeds United in a game that ended 6 - 1 in favour of Liverpool. Just a few hours ago, we did it again. It wasn't an easy win though, but we successfully got the maximum points in an intense fixture against Nottingham Forest.

Liverpool 3 - 2 Nottingham

That right there is just a fraction of the rollercoaster ride we had to go through in this highly intense fixture.

Football as we know it is always a game of two halves, but as you can see in the above screenshot, the first half of the game is as good as inexistent. The Nottingham lads did a good job of keeping things tight at their backline throughout the first half. Keylor Navas also proved to be an impregnable man in their goalkeeping area. They jointly held and frustrated Liverpool throughout the first half of the game.

While I recognize the brilliance of the Nottingham lads during the first half of the game, I have to say that Liverpool also made things hard for themselves in both halves of the game. They had loads of goalscoring opportunities in the first game, but they couldn't get any names on the scoresheet. It was until the second half of the game that we managed to break the deadlock. Even at that, the two goals that were conceded could have been saved if not for the deflections from our defenders.

I know... We got the win and we finished the game with the maximum points. So, nobody is making bones about the problems which have been brewing in our backline. But, we've seen these sorts of defensive errors in too many cases. I believe these problems should not be overlooked for too long.

Well, this game was a thrilling rollercoaster and I had my fair share of exciting and frustrating performances from the lads. We still managed to get a win so, it's worth some bragging rights. Haha.

In my previous game review, I highlighted the importance of Trent's midfield adaptation and how it has helped us improve massively. Well, this game is the third game he's playing in a row as a midfielder and I won't even try to take anything away from this lad. He's a world-class player.
