Injury Hits Barcelona Squad Once Again

Source

FC Barcelona yet again has suffered another injury blow in the current International break, this is bad and not the right time for the players to pick up injuries because of the tough fixture ahead at the beginning of next month. Barcelona will face Real Madrid on the 5th of April for the second leg of the Copa Del Rey semi-final, Barcelona is leading with a goal on aggregate and hopes to finish the job when they host Real Madrid next month.

Three important players from the squad have been confirmed by the club to have picked off an injury on the break. The first player that was confirmed was Ronald Araujo, the Uruguayan International picked up an injury five days ago and his recovery will determine his availability for the squad. Ronald Araujo is no doubt one of the best defenders in the world currently and is part of the success of Barcelona conceding eight goals alone in La Liga this season.

Ronald Araujo has also been effective in suppressing Vinicus Jr in every EL Clasico match cutting off Benzema supply, he has been also relentless at his position and some say he reminds them of Carles Puyol because he has the same character and monster mentality as the former Barcelona defender. Araujo missing the EL Clasico would be a big problem for Barca's defense and I just hope he recovers quickly before the match.

Frankie De Jong is the second player confirmed by Barca yesterday to have picked up a hamstring injury, this is bad because Frankie is the core of Barcelona's midfield because he delivers top quality each time he plays on the field. Frankie is out and Pedri has not been given the green light by the medical team is a big problem for the squad, Xavi has a lot to think about and pick up a player suitable for Frankie's role.

Andreas Christensen is another huge blow for Barca's defense, the Danish defender is said to have picked up an injury in his left calf and his recovery will determine his availability for the squad. Christensen has been phenomenal since he arrived as a free agent last summer window, the level of quality he brings to the backline is top notch and is also one of the reasons Barca has conceded less goals this season.

It's going to be a tough one for Xavi in the coming weeks but I trust he will deliver a positive result. So guys that will be all, thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
