Barcelona Suffer A Loss In EL Clasico

Source

What a sad day it was for all Barcelona fans in Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and across the world. The El Clasico is one of the biggest fixtures in the world of football where two top teams in Europe go head-to-head. Real Madrid hosted the first El Clasico of the season in the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

Real Madrid opened the scoreline in the 12th minute of the first half, Vinicius Jnr attempted to score but Ter Stegen block the ball from going into the goalposts, Benzema was quick to capitalize on the loose ball and played a shot into the goal post and gave Madrid there first led.

Barcelona was close to equalizing in the 24th minute, Raphinha played a low cross into Madrid's box the ball passed De Jong who attempted to tap the ball into the goal post and reached Lewandoski who had a better opportunity to score but somehow played the ball over the goalpost. It was shocking, the goalpost was wide open and i am sure Madrid's keeper won't have made it in time to stop the ball from going into the goalpost.

Real Madrid doubled their lead in the 35th minute, Mendy played a pass to Valverde who took a shot from long-range, but Ter Stegen failed to stop the ball from going into the goalpost, it was a complete defensive disaster from Barcelona.

Barcelona got their first goal in the 83rd minute of the second half, Ansu Fati lead a counter-attack, dribbled past a defender, and then played a low cross into Madrid's box, Lewandoski passed the ball with his backheel to Ferran Torres, and he made a tap in into the goal post.

I thought Barcelona would likely draw the match but all hope was lost when Eric Garcia made a foul on Rodrigo in the box, the VAR gave Real Madrid a penalty, and Rodrigo sealed Madrid to victory when he scored the penalty.

Barcelona fans including me complained Frankie De Jong should start over Gavi and Balde also should be a starter, now we got what we wanted. Gavi did not start, and Balde and De Jong were in the starting lineups but still, Barcelona did not get a better result. At this point, I don't think I will be expecting anything from this Barcelona team this season, we got the players we wanted but still, Barcelona can not turn up in big games.

The question that will be out there soon is if Xavi is the right man to coach Barcelona. Now I miss Messi more than ever, he was carrying Barcelona on his shoulder alone. Barcelona will bounce back, it is just a matter of time.

So guys that is all for today, thanks once again for stopping by.
