A league can be the most popular but not be as competitive as others. Using the male league as an example, La Liga has produced a lot of Champions League winners in recent years, yet it is deemed not so competitive compared to the English Premier league. Even with the recent dominance of Guardiola’s Man City, the EPL is still a fight to the finish line battle hence the "competitive tag". The Bundesliga, French Ligue 1, and Italian Serie A at some point had only one winner for years and till now the Bundesliga is still Bayern’s birthright. The same pattern is gradually applying to Most Female European leagues.

Here is a quick round-down of the most competitive female leagues in Europe.

Note there are so many criteria one can use to determine the most competitive league and being competitive doesn’t mean the teams in these leagues are better than others. Bayern Munich (Male team) are a typical example, despite playing in a league they dominate, they perform well in the UCL and are always o the favourite list.

1. Barclays FA Women’s Super League ( WSL)- England)

This is gradually growing into one of the most popular leagues in Europe. It was a fight to the wire last season. Arsenal gave Chelsea a run for their money. Man City is another team playing well in this league. Despite how competitive this league is, they haven’t been able to replicate it in Europe. With a growing market, it’s a matter of time before English teams start competing with the Elite of Europe.

2.D1Arkema- France

This is the home to two of the top teams in Europe, PSG and Lyon are great rivals and they’ve been giving the fans a great show in recent years. The good thing about this is that their competitiveness is extending to Europe's biggest competition- the UWCL.

3. Frauen-Bundesliga- Germany

The problem with the German league is that every year we see their best players leave for other leagues. Bayern, Wolfsburg and Hoffenheim are the giants in this league but they are always willing to sell their best players at any opportunity, this is a great disservice to the league.

4 Primera Iberdrola- Spain

Many will argue that the Spanish league is either number 1 or 2 on the list, going by the record-breaking attendance recorded in matches played by two of the big teams in the league, however, I’m using the performance and dominance of teams in these league hence the 4th on the list. Barcelona won 30 out of 30 games, won all the domestic cups flawlessly and got to the UWCL final, Real Madrid also got to the Quarter final of the UWCL in their first appearance so those saying it’s competitive might have a justifiable point.

5. Serie A Femminile- Italy

Number 5 on the list. Juventus are the most successful league in the league. Dominating all the domestic competition, they also qualified in one of the toughest UWCL groups but were disqualified by eventual champions, Lyon.

Conclusion

Using different Parameters, the number 5 on the list might be the number 1 or 2, there are no criteria for picking, just like how some people call any league Pep coach at a farmer’s league but gradually he is dominating the EPL yet it isn’t a farmer’s league in their book. Understand this anyhow you want.
