A SHORT EVENING POST WITH JUST ONE BEETLE AND JUST ONE FLY

The evening was fresh, but not too cold, so I encountered some insects while walking across the meadow, along the edge of the forest.

This small, hairy beetle, the Lagria hirta from the Tenebrionidae family ...

... was resting on the foliage of some small shrub. At one point ...

... the robber fly arrived, caught the beetle, and brought it to the nearby evergreen oak tree. This shot was taken on one of the lower branches of that tree.

And that's it. A short entry while I'm preparing a very long post about a boat trip that I did last week.
