Siempre que voy a la ciudad de la Habana me gusta visitar los espacios culturales. Galerías, Museos, Teatros y muchos otros que se esparcen por toda la ciudad para el disfrute de los ciudadanos. Así sucedió hace unos días cuando caminaba por la céntrica zona del Vedado y decidí llegarme hasta la Galería 23 y 12 para conversar con la especialista en Arte que allí trabaja. La conocí en el verano del año pasado cuando participé en una muestra de arte abstracto cubano que fue organizada por la Galería y el MAAC ( Movimiento de Arte Abstracto Cubano) del que soy miembro junto a más de 50 artistas de toda Cuba.
Era mi día de suerte, pues a pesar de que no tenía una cita Ileana ( así se llama la especialista) se encontraba en la galería en ese momento. Ella es una excelente profesional , con muchos años de experiencia en el mundo de las galerías de arte.
Pero no es de nuestro encuentro del que te quiero hablar, sino de esas imágenes que seguro ya estás disfrutando. Al llegar fuí sorprendido por una exposición de Michel Moro un completo desconocido para mi ( nótese que soy artista hace más de 30 años). Y es que somos muchos artistas en este país, donde cualquier persona con vocación y talento puede estudiar gratis en las Escuelas de Arte. Hace décadas que el Arte en Cuba se convirtió en un fenómeno masivo y de calidad.
Tuve muy buena impresión desde el principio. la obra de Moro es realmente atractiva, contemporánea y bien realizada. Quizás un poco fuerte por los temas como diría Ileana, quien me confesó que prefería motivos más agradables para la creación en medio de un mundo tan plagado de noticias desastrosas.
La pintura de Moro nace de las crisis del espíritu humano, de la agresividad y las fallas de nuestra civilización. No lo conocí y nunca he hablado con el, pero su obra es intensa no solo en los mensajes que refleja, sino también en la forma en pinta. Hay en la actualidad muchos estilos de pintar. Michel usa un estilo libre, contemporáneo, que sabe equilibrar bien según sus objetivos. Las imágenes y composiciones son realmente creativas, mezclando lo realista con el surrealismo para evocar el absurdo y la desidia.
Pienso que la curadoria y el montaje fueron bien realizados. Recuerdo que casualmente unos días antes de esta visita y cuando esta exposición todavía se estaba montando, pasé por allí y pedí permiso para entrar y enrollar bien unas pinturas que llevaba conmigo.

I think that the curatorship and the mounting were well done. I remember that coincidentally a few days before this visit and when this exhibition was still being set up, I passed by and asked permission to enter and roll up some paintings that I had with me.
