Regresé este fin de semana a un sitio en el que estuve por primera vez hace dos meses: la Cascada de Juan González, un sitio apartado de la ciudad donde vivo, en otro municipio, uno al que he estado yendo con frecuencia en los últimos tiempos por tema trabajo, uno que puedo asegurar, sin dudas, que es el más hermoso de Santiago de Cuba por la combinación tan perfecta que tiene entre mares y montañas.
I returned this weekend to a place where I was for the first time two months ago: the Cascada Juan González Waterfall, a place away from the city where I live, in another municipality, one to which I have been going frequently in recent times as for work, one that I can assure, without a doubt, is the most beautiful in Santiago de Cuba due to the perfect combination it has between mares and mountains.
El camino hasta allá no fue complejo, el regreso tampoco. Ese tema me preocupaba, pues, es una ruta que nunca he cogido a rumbo. Siempre las ocasiones en las que he andado por esa ruta ha sido en transporte alquilado. Sin embargo, todo se alineó para que el viaje fuera perfecto.
Llegué a la orilla de la carretera sobre las diez y pico de la mañana, pues, a pesar de que salí temprano, el camión en el que iba tuvo algunos defectos técnicos y demoramos más de lo esperado. Una vez allí, atravesé todo el caserío rumbo a la cascada y emprendí la expedición de cerca de media hora andando entre rocas y riachuelos.
The way there was not complex, nor was the return. That issue worried me, because it is a route that I have never taken on a course. The occasions on which I have traveled that route have always been in rented transportation. However, everything aligned to make the trip perfect.
I arrived at the side of the road around ten or so in the morning, because, although I left early, the truck I was in had some technical defects and it took us longer than expected. Once there, I crossed the entire hamlet towards the waterfall and began the expedition of about half an hour walking among rocks and streams.
Solo había estado en ese lugar una vez antes. Pero logré recordar bien el camino y llegar sin problema a la cascada. Disfruté mucho el trayecto. Es naturaleza pura, poca antropización pese a las casas que hay a los alrededores al inicio de la ruta. Se respira fresquesito el aire. Distinguía el canto de varias especies de pájaros mientras avanzaba.
I had only been to that place once before. But I managed to remember the path well and reach the waterfall without any problem. I really enjoyed the journey. It is pure nature, little anthropization despite the houses around the beginning of the route. The air is breathable. I could hear the songs of several species of birds as I moved forward.
¡Disfruté 🥳 muchísimo del día! Era todo paz, silencio, buena vibra. Allí grité 🗣️ a todo pulmón cuando sentí que debía dejar salir el peso que me venía invadiendo desde hacía tiempo. Luego canté, como si no importase nada más sobre la tierra que mi voz. Leí poesía, me bañé desnuda ☺️ y fui feliz 🤗.
I enjoyed the day very much! It was all peace, silence, good vibes. There I screamed 🗣️ at the top of my lungs when I felt like I had to let out the weight that had been invading me for a long time. Then I sang, as if nothing else on earth mattered but my voice. I read poetry, I bathed naked ☺️ and I was happy 🤗.
