I'm happy to share my first recipe on Hive, especially in this community dedicated to cooking, I hope you like it.
This time I prepared hot chocolate, a traditional drink from my country Venezuela, it is super rich and ideal to consume on rainy days or cold weather. There are many types of chocolate bars that we can use to prepare this recipe, however it is best to choose one that contains a high percentage of cocoa, with or without sugar is optional.
Now, without further ado, here are the necessary ingredients:
Ingredients | Quantity |
---|---|
Dark Chocolate Chunks | 100 gr |
Water | 200 ml |
Milk powder | 150 gr |
Sugar | 100 gr (to taste) |
Cornstarch | 1 tablespoon |
Salt | 1 pinch |
Cinnamon and star anise | To taste |
1- The first thing to do is to put the water, chocolate, sugar, cinnamon, which in this case I used powdered cinnamon, star anise and a pinch of salt in a saucepan; place over medium heat until the chocolate is completely dissolved.
2- While the chocolate dissolves, mix the powdered milk with water in a container and set aside.
3- In another container we dilute the cornstarch (corn starch) and set aside for later use.
4- When our chocolate is completely dissolved, we begin to add little by little the liquid milk that we beat before. Mix for a few minutes and let it boil.
5- Continue adding the diluted cornstarch while stirring very well, it will add thickness to the chocolate, this ingredients is optional depending on your taste. Let it boil again.
6- Remove from the fire and serve hot with slices of bread and cheese.
Just enjoy and delight the palate with an exquisite hot chocolate very creamy and thick.
Using a good full cream milk is essential for our chocolate to have a good flavor and excellent result.
After adding the cornstarch or cornstarch it is very important to always stir until it gets thick, also we will be avoiding lumps or burning.
This has been all my special recipe for hot chocolate, thank you very much for your solidarity and attention...
