Anyway, today I want to bring you a review of an unconventional coffee shop. It's called "K-fe in Cup" and I swear it has become one of my favorite places in Caracas "And why is that Kat?" Because.... It's a Cat's Café 😍😍😍

En fin, el día de hoy quiero traerles una reseña de una cafetería nada convencional. Se llama "K-fe en Taza" y les juro que se ha convertido en uno de mis lugares favoritos en Caracas "¿y eso por que Kat?" Porque…. Es un Café de Gatos 😍😍😍

I swear I thought I would have to wait to go to Tokyo to live this experience (or visit my mother-in-law more often with a cake and a quart of coffee, which for practical purposes is the same 😂).
Many may not like the fact of having michis curious while you're enjoying a coffee, but for kitty lovers it's a top😍 experience.
Well first things first. This cafe is located in Caracas, Venezuela, specifically on Urdaneta Ave. a few blocks from the old city center.
Les juro que yo pensaba que tendría que esperar ir a Tokyo para vivir está experiencia (o visitar más seguido a mi suegra con una torta y un cuarto de café, que para efectos prácticos es lo mismo 😂)
Puede que a muchos no les guste el hecho de tener a michis curioseado mientras estás disfrutando un café, pero para los amantes de los gatitos es una experiencia top😍
Bueno primero lo primero. Este café está ubicado en Caracas, Venezuela, específicamente en la Av. Urdaneta, a unas cuantas cuadras del antiguo centro de la ciudad.

This is very "funny" because as a caraqueña born and raised here, I can assure you that Urdaneta Ave. is one of the least "chic" in the capital 😅 but that's the wonderful thing. The possibility of having an establishment with such a beautiful concept and energy in the middle of the city chaos is just great.
Carol Mateus is the owner of this place, and according to an interview the beginning of this cat cafe was rather fortuitous.
Esto es muy "gracioso" pues como caraqueña nacida y criada aquí, les puedo asegurar que la Av. Urdaneta es de las menos "chic" de la capital 😅 pero eso es lo maravilloso. La posibilidad de tener un establecimiento con un concepto y una energía tan hermosos en medio del caos citadino es algo simplemente genial.
Carol Mateus es la propietaria de este local, y según una entrevista el inicio de este café gatuno fue más bien fortuito.
In 2020, she got the impetus to open her business but, with the arrival of the pandemic and the low influx, the place began to fill up with rats.
Being an active rescuer and feline lover, she decided to bring Fortunella, one of her kittens, to the store. It was like magic, the rats left and the customers came to play with the kitty. At that moment the spotlight came on and she rescued the beautiful Lucas from a parking lot.
En el 2020, consiguió el impulso para abrir su negocio pero, con la llegada de la pandemia y la poca afluencia, el local comenzó a llenarse de ratas.
Siendo ella una activa rescatista y amante de los felinos, decidió llevar a Fortunella, una de sus gatitas al local. Fue como magia, las ratas se fueron y los clientes llegaron para jugar con la minina. En ese momento se le prendió el foco y rescató al bellísimo Lucas de un estacionamiento

The place is definitely a cat-paradise. Toys, nesting beds, bridges, scratching trees and lots of humans to pet. What cat wouldn't be happy?
El local es definitivamente un "cat-paradise". Juguetes, camas nido, puentes, árboles rascadores y muchos humanos para que los acaricien ¿Que gato no sería feliz?

One of the coolest details of this café is a beautiful little cat door that the owners installed in the kitchen for when the cats feel overwhelmed and want to rest in private.
Uno de los detalles mas cuchis de este café una hermosa puertita para gatos que los dueños instalaron en la cocina para cuando los michis se sientan agobiados y quieran descansar en privado.

When I went with my mom (who is another cat lover) I couldn't resist sitting on the floor as if I were at home to play with these beauties 😍🐱 who are also super affectionate.
An important part to mention is that with every purchase you will be donating 1$ to promote sterilization and vaccination campaigns at low cost.
But the place not only lives of exquisite coffees and cakes (I'm craving 😅) also has a small shop to buy cookies for cats and dogs, shirts, collars, clothes and more accessories for our furry little ones.
Cuando fui con mi mamá (que es otra amante de los gatos) no pude resistirme a sentarme en el piso como si estuviera en mi casa a jugar con estas bellezas 😍🐱 que además son super cariñosos.
Una parte importante a mencionar es que con cada compra estarás donando 1$ para promover campañas de esterilización y vacunación a bajo costo.
Pero el local no solo vive de exquisitos cafés y tortas (ya se me antojo 😅) también tiene una pequeña tiendita para comprar galletas para michis y perris, camisas, collares, ropita y de más accesorios para nuestros hijitos peludos.

Now I will review my afternoon snack, an exquisite pineapple cake and a cappuccino.
I'll just say 10/10 because I'm not an expert at reviewing food 😅 I liked that the cake was soft and fluffy, the pineapple syrup was super yummy and the coffee was very tasty.
Ahora pasaré a reseñar mi merienda de esa tarde, una exquisita torta de piña y un capuchino.
Solo diré 10/10 porque no soy experta reseñado comida 😅 Me gustó que la torta estuviese suave y esponjosa, el almíbar de piña estaba súper rico y el café estaba muy sabroso.

The prices seemed to me appropriate to this fluctuating reality. The normal coffee ones 1.50$, the specials 2.50$, and the cakes 2$. Anyway what is worth is the experience, and if you don't believe me, look at my mom 😂
Los precios me parecieron adecuados a esta realidad fluctuante. Los cafés normales 1.50$, los especiales 2.50$, y las tortas 2$. De todas maneras lo que vale es la experiencia, y si no me creen, miren a mi mamá 😂

In this store live at least 5 rescued michis, which is also part of the important message that their workers carry.
Adopting will always be better than buying, but like everything else, you must keep in mind that it is a life. If you are going to take home a pet get it in your head that IS A CHILD it will need a lot of care and it is not enough to give it food, so please, think about it very well 🙏🏻
En este local conviven al menos 5 michis rescatados, lo cual también es parte del importante mensaje que llevan sus trabajadores.
Adoptar siempre será mejor que comprar, pero como todo, se debe tener muy en cuenta que se trata de una vida. Si vas llevar a casa a una mascota métete bien en la cabeza que ES UN HIJO necesitará de mucho pero mucho cuidado y no basta con darle comida, así que por favor, piénselo muy bien 🙏🏻
