I would like to share with you my experience and impressions in the exhibition of Tutankhamun:
Two golden statues of Anubis greet me at the entrance and invite me to the tomb. I will now see Tutankhamun's grave and I am very excited to see what awaits me. Mask on, let's go ......
In the entrance area there are already the first exhibits, which are deliberately immersed in the scene with bright light spots, and give you an idea that this will be a wonderfully beautiful and inspiring collection. After my friend and I have handed in our jackets and bags, we go straight to a medium-sized cinema room. A canvas no larger than 3 meters diagonal will now show us the story of how Howard Carter found Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922 and uncovered it. As is customary in museums, the sound comes from a cellphone loudspeaker that you have to hold to your ear the whole time. After about 10 minutes of cinema feeling, the audio tour takes you through the luminous, sensationally designed halls and rooms. In every corner, on every wall, on every exhibition table, it shines in a golden glow. Splendor, treasures, statues and fine antique jewelry. How did the discoverers of the grave have to have felt?
It looks a bit strange, all the visitors with this cellphone loudspeaker pressed to their ears, the mask on their faces. Nevertheless, my expectations are exceeded. Beautifully illuminated behind safety glass, the exhibits are very easy to see and the respective history is engraved on beautiful boards and hung like pictures next to the respective exhibit. It is quiet in the museum, only the whispering of the visitors can be heard and now and then a loudly cranked earbone that says …… »now go to object 23! «As I slowly but surely come towards the end of the rooms, I see my friend smiling and pointing with his finger at a piece that is positioned on a column about 2 meters high. There she is. The world famous mask of Tutankhamun. Just as beautiful as I imagined. Impressive and somewhat ironic at the same time:
I'm standing in front of a thousand-year-old mask that immediately reminds me of how I look at the Pharaoh's mask with my mask, eye to eye, mask to mask and ask myself:

Ich möchte mit euch meine Erfahrung und Eindrücke in der Ausstellung Tutanchamuns teilen:
Schon am Eingang begrüßen mich zwei goldene Statuen des Anubis und laden mich herzlich in die Grabstätte ein. Tutanchamuns Grab werde ich nun sehen und bin schon sehr gespannt, was mich erwartet. Maske auf, los geht’s……
Im Eingangsbereich stehen schon die ersten Ausstellungsstücke, welche gezielt mit hellen Lightspots in Szene getaucht sind, und schon mal erahnen lassen, dass dies eine wunder-schöne und inspirierende Sammlung sein wird. Nachdem mein Freund und ich unsere Jacken und Taschen abgegeben haben, geht es direkt in ein mittelgrossen Kino-Raum. Eine Leinwand, nicht grösser als 3 Meter Diagonale wird uns nun die Geschichte zeigen, wie Howard Carter 1922 Tutanchamuns Grabstätte fand, und diese freilegte. Den Ton dazu kommt, wie im Museum üblich, von einem Handy-Lautsprecher, den man sich die ganze Zeit ans Ohr drücken muss. Nach ca. 10 min Kinofeeling geht’s nun mit Hörführung durch die Leuchtenden, sensationell gestalteten Hallen und Räume. In jeder Ecke, an jeder Wand, auf jedem Ausstellungstisch, leuchtet es in einem Goldenen Schein. Prunk, Schätze, Statuen und edle Antike Schmuckstücke. Wie mussten sich nur die Entdecker des Grabes gefühlt haben?
Es sieht schon etwas kurios aus, die ganzen Besucher mit diesem Handy-Lautsprecher ans Ohr gepresst, die Maske im Gesicht. Nichts destotrotz werden meine Erwartungen übertroffen. Hinter Sicherheitsglas schön ausgeleuchtet sind die Exponate sehr gut zu erkennen und die jeweilige Historie dazu auf schönen Tafeln graviert und wie Bilder nebst dem jeweiligen Ausstellungstück aufgehängt. Es ist ruhig im Museum, lediglich das Geflüster der Besucher ist zu vernehmen und ab und an einen zu laut aufgedrehten Höhrerknochen der verlautet……» gehen Sie nun zu Objekt 23! « Als ich so langsam, aber sicher Richtung Ende der Räume komme, sehe ich meinen Freund lächelnd mit seinem Finger auf ein Stück zeigend das auf einer Säule in etwa 2 Meter Höhe positioniert ist. Da steht Sie. Die weltberühmte Maske des Tutanchamun. Genau so schön wie ich sie mir vorgestellt habe. Beeindrucken und etwas ironisch zu gleich:
Steh ich doch vor einer tausende Jahre alten Maske, die mich gleich daran erinnert, wie ich mit meiner Maske die Maske des Pharao betrachte, Auge in Auge, Maske zu Maske und frage mich:
Die toten die ewig leben oder die lebenden die ewig tot sind?
