Genesis 27:26-29
The Blessing!
Today I have the pleasure of reading the blessing from a father to his child, given to only one of his sons. Only one will receive it and the same one will also impart it to only one of his boys when he has them.

Jacob got the blessing months or years earlier for the price of a bowl of stew. It was a verbal agreement of sorts with a man who thought he would die of hunger in the next few hours if he were to make his own dinner. This has been a bone of contention between peoples and nations every since, but God knew all about it while these brothers were still being formed inside their mother.
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
Tehilim 139:13

Then his father Isaac said to him, "Come near and kiss me, my son." So he came near and kissed him. And Isaac smelled the smell of his garments and blessed him and said, "See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field that YHVH has blessed!
May God give you of the dew of heaven and of the fatness of the earth and plenty of grain and wine. Let peoples serve you, and nations bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers, and may your mother's sons bow down to you. Cursed be everyone who curses you, and blessed be everyone who blesses you!"
