Trying To Beat The WA Heatwave!

image.png

We often camp at a Private campground near Sultan, WA. Gold Bar Nature Trails. Hearing we were going to experience a record-breaking heatwave we headed to the mountains from the desert side of WA.

As it turned out the weather was 104 f instead of 115 at home, but at least there were trees, shade and a beautiful creek filled with clean ice and snow runoff.

The creek is clean, fast running and fairly cold, exactly what the conditions required! Of course we had to build some rock formations.

We had a nice time, but the "West Side" of WA is not well prepared for these temperatures, so air conditioners failed, there were power spikes that impacted transformers and many other issues, so we headed home this morning.

Four and a half hours back home where it was a cozy 113. I managed to capture the hottest temperature we saw just outside of Yakima, WA.

I guess the worst isn't over yet, so we are going to have to find more things to do to try to beat the heat.

How's the weather where you are?
