The Heart of the Ocean is the name of an anecdotal blue jewel highlighted unmistakably in the 1997 film Titanic. In the story, the 56-carat precious stone was initially claimed by Louis XVI and cut into a heart shape after the French Revolution. In the film, the jewelry was acquired by Pittsburgh steel magnate Caledon Hockley, played by Billy Zane, seven days before he cruised on the doomed sea liner RMS Titanic. The accessory was intended to be given as a commitment present to his life partner Rose DeWitt Bukater, played by Kate Winslet and Gloria Stuart. It is trusted that both Rose and the accessory ran down with the sinking of the ship, driving some fortune salvagers to trust the jewelry lies someplace inside the disaster area of the Titanic.
