Often associated with bloating and gas, legumes actually provide a myriad of nutrients which include:

  • Fiber (!!!)
    stabilizes digestion which removes toxins
    keeps blood sugar balanced
    prevents cardiovascular disease
  • Protein: and low in fat
    1 cup = 33% of protein women should consume in a day / 27% of protein men should consume in a day
  • Complex Carbs:
    take longer to digest, increasing duration of ¨feeling full¨

  • High content of:
    Magnesium
    Calcium
    Iron
    Vitamin B6
    Zinc
    Potassium

The combination of the above nutrients increases satiety (¨feeling full ) which prevents overeating and weight gain.
