"Raining On The Rock"
Once your feet have walked upon that ancient red soil, and you've slept under the Southern Cross, a part of you will always remain there. Like a footprint baked into sundried earth, Gondwanaland will always be in your heart.
It's been 30 years since i went walkabout and during the global lockdown I desired more than ever to pick up me swag and go walkabout again.
They say home is where the heart is, and I left mine in the Mulga, back of Bourke, where the heat-waves dance forever, out on the wastes of the Never Never.
I painted this landscape on the wall of my apartment lounge, during the Covid lockdown, using household white emulsion paint mixing in acrylic colour pigments.
