Beeswax candles. What is it and how to make it by your own hands.

For several years I have been making candles from beeswax and I have studied this topic in details. Usually, I make candles every year once or twice. I have some reserve of wax left from last year.

I use beeswax, that I usually buy from farmers. Since last year, I still have a large reserve, a 12 litres bucket. Such candles have a very pleasant smell and have a wonderful honey color.

Candle is one of the most ancient sources of light. Beeswax - a natural material, resulted in producing honey process. Wax, in contrast to the popular petroleum-derived paraffin and stearin, - material originally natural, clean, rich with fragrance of honey, propolis and essential oils. Burning candle in general is very wonderful and mysterious thing. First, wax becomes oily liquid, the wick absorbs it and converted into a gas. Gas gives light and warmth. Candle is a complete harmony, as combines all 4 elements: fire - the flame of a candle, the water - a liquid wax, during combustion, the air is heated and flowing upwards, the earth - the candle itself as a solid substance. But the candle wax is not only an original piece of furniture, it carries a therapeutic effect. Wax contained in essential oils, propolis resin and of course live fire pacify naturally cleanse and harmonize the atmosphere, do not allow bacteria to spread and help to better cope with the disease. Therefore beeswax candles can be used for the prevention of colds and viral infections. It's enough to light a candle every day for 2-3 hours, to disinfect the premises.

Sooooo, let us start :)

Candles can be done in different ways. It can be done pouring the wax into the mold. Or by dipping the wick into the container with a wax. I'll show you two.
