Visiting The Abandoned "Green Cliff"

Hello, Hive.

I went to a place called "The Green Cliff" in a village located about 40 minutes drive from my place. This was the first time I went out again for making a short trip. In this pandemic time, there were not many things to do or place to travel around my island. Tourism since to be dead at the moment.

The Green Cliff is an area by the road where you can see the view of hills, valleys surrounded by the tropical forest. The local people built a type of bridge that people walk on to reach about a 10-meter high platform. From this platform, people could take a better look at the views of the forests. I'd like to climb to that place too.

That was the plan.

After driving winding roads, I arrived at the Green Cliff. There was no staff at the gate and there were no people selling tickets or anything like that. If you search on google, you will see photos of happy people taking selfies or photos in this place. But I was there yesterday (this was written on November 1st, 2020) there was nobody there.

The bamboo bridge was still there, but some parts were broken. It was too dangerous to even walk to the bridge.

Nevertheless, the view was nice and calming. I did take some photos to share with you.

I sat down with my family in an open building for about half an hour just to enjoy being there. The air was cool since we were on the hilly areas.

There were several other open buildings designated as view point places from where people could see the forest and valleys. And those buildings were empty, no one was to be seen. I imagined these buildings were full of people before the pandemic. Nowadays, it's very quiet.

A guy that I met there told me that the bridge was closed since the pandemic began. There were many visitors coming before, but due to the covid, the village was closed for visitors. Hence, the bridge was left unattended and deteriorated.

That's all another little adventure of mine. Thanks for visiting.
