Some things more is not always better, and with tomatoes that can be the case. My dad let his tomatoes get huge, and there were tons of branches, and tons of flowers. But that doesn't necessarily mean tons of tomatoes.
He got a bunch of tomatoes on some plants, but on others not so much, and the tomatoes he did get did not really have good flavor. That is because they did not put the energy into the fruit, but rather into the leaves.
So my tomatoes this year I have been pruning, and keeping a tight ship on those. They look good and have plenty of fruit. They are also a lot bigger of fruit, and I am hoping they will be full of flavor.
