New gaming chair!

Now that we're in an actual house, one of the perks of not being in an apartment is apparently that we get daily newspaper delivery. Which also means daily flyer delivery. Which in turn meant that I found myself last weekend browsing a Canadian Tire flyer for the first time in literally years...

And, well... things happened.

Things like a new office/gaming chair, and a new TV for the upstairs livingroom.

My old chair was a junker. I got it second-hand more than a decade ago, and by the time I tossed it after pulling this box inside, it was being held together by spite and gorilla tape more than anything.

The box wasn't even too large. We fit it in my wife's Cruz, which was nice - the TV was a whole other story and required us to remove the kids' car seats, dropping the back seat, and slipping it in that way.

This photo shows a bit more of the chair here, and the whole 'share the unboxing with us' social media campaign the company does. I don't really take videos often though so I'm definitely not participating in a real unboxing of any kind.

I will however show it in it's current placement in my office. Which is messy. Because I have two kids and a thousand things constantly on the go.

Still though, I am pretty fond of it. The chair can be plugged in to give some fun light-up affects... The box says it's got 31 different colour settings, but I find that I basically just use one or two so far. The default starting is a constantly moving rainbow effect of all available colours, and then there's several that are just solid all the way around. Another affect after that is a sort of... colour stacking? Like, it builds up and then resets. It's kind of neat. Definitely not necessary in a chair but it's a fun gimmick that I enjoy flipping on now and then - and my toddler thinks it's the best so that's pretty cool too.

That's all for now. I've got a bit of time while the kids sleep before I'm dead tired, and I intend to spend it gaming in this fancy new chair! Take care friends!
