With the completion of Overwatch Contenders Season zero last month we have all been anxious to get season 1 started! Season one will bring us everything season zero brought us and more. Some of the big changes will be that every match will be streamed live. This is great considering in season zero we missed a few matches that we all wished were streamed. Secondly, the prize pool is doubled going from $50k per region to $100k respectively. Additionally we will see all of the top teams competing as opposed to season zero we were without Rogue and Envy(they were both competing in Apex season three in Korea at the time of Contenders season zero). Lastly we will get a live LAN finals in October that should be awesome to watch on its own.
Overwatch Contenders Season 1 will start August 14th
In the North American region we will see season zero champions Los Angeles Immortals, Kungarna, FNRGFE, Team Liquid, FaZe Clan, and Detroit Renegades.
In the European region we will see season zero champions eUnited, Moviestar Riders, Laser Kittenz, Team Singularity, 123, Misfits, Rest in Pyjamas, and Bazooka Puppies.
This should be an awesome 6 week competition that I will be covering regularly. I how to see you guys there!
