Ahoy me maties, what be Cornwall most know for then, nay not pirates, it be well known for it's pasties ye Scallywags, and this be me entry for fruitsandveggiesmonday with @lenasveganliving. OK no more pirate voice, interesting facts about pasties, they have been around since the 13th century, and only later between 17 and 18th century miners would take them for lunch, the top part would be a like a handle to hold with their dirty hands, and they would eat around the handle and chuck it away when finished. I used to love eating this as a kid, yip belive it or not you can buy Cornish pasties in South Africa, so I did what I do with everything I used to like, I veganized the hell out it. So to make it vegan I replaced the lard in the pastry, and instead of beef bits I used Soya mince. So to start off with it is best to prepare the pastry because it needs to stay in the fridge for a while, the pastry is really easy and a bullet proof recipe.
Pasty ingredients
235g plain flour
120g vegan margarine
Pinch of salt
50ml cold water
So flour is in a bowl
Margarine and a pinch of salt
Mix it thoroughly and add cold water
Then keep on mixing until it is like dou
Then wrap it up in parchment paper and keep it in the fridge
