Smitten -5minutefreewrite

The kitten was smitten with the spittin' image of a mitten. She'd stare at it for hours, trying to reach through the painting to snag a claw.

Naturally, she couldn't. This was a picture, plain and simple, and there was just no way any kitten could manifest reality like woo woo people can.

Except then... a few days later, an exact replica, but this time real and not a picture, of the mitten sat in front of the picture. The kitten gleefully tore it to shreds. A few days later another appeared. And when that was destroyed, another. And another. As if there was an unending supply of mittens.

They got sloppier and sloppier and looked less and less like the picture each time. In fact, eventually, they were just piles of unknitted yarn. This gradual deterioration went unnoticed by the kitten.

Her owner was relieved. So much time had been spent knittin' mittens for kitten that there was nothing in the kitchen any more.

So the owner went back to work, and left the kitten in yarn paradise for the day.
