I wanted to tell you about these biscuits. They are a bit old fashioned, but I really do like them. I ate a whole packet of them. Here’s my view on them.
Mcvities Fruit Shortcake
”Shortcake Biscuits with Currants."
The first thing I want to say about these biscuits is that my late Granny used to call them Dead Fly Biscuits” and I can see why. Seems to be a thing because when I told my husband what we called them, he said his family called them the same as well. Must be a British thing. Anyway, what I like about these biscuits is that they are thin and packed full of currants. I find the biscuits are crumbly but they don’t fall apart. They have a lovely buttery flavour. They have a sprinkling of sugar on top and they have a hint of salt too. I love them. I like getting to the chewy currants and best of all… I love unking these in a fresh glass of milk.
Sometimes the Old Fashioned things are the best. I love these so much. I love the taste and texture of them. I love the way they soak up the milk. You have to be quick though, or they will fall into your glass before you know it. Just yum and they go down far too easily!
