Sorry, I took my sweet time again and didn't post as often as I'd like to, but on the other hand I was still around, making it rain with some pennies haha.
Let's talk ramen today. It is becoming so popular over here in Detroit. Seriously, we have ramen shops and izakayas pop up here like mushroom after the rain, that's a Russian saying ;) I love it! Even though some of them don't make it and have to close doors after a while, I'm happy I was able to check them out and taste some new dishes and discover new flavors.
However, it is not just Japanese restaurants that are abundant. Have you guys noticed all the craft ramen available on the market? Wow . . . It is not just some cheap Maruchan or Top ramen for poor students to survive on anymore. I'm genuinely impressed and excited!
So far, I've got to taste ramen from quite a few small businesses aiming to deliver authentic ramen noodles and rich broths. A lot of them have really interesting and refreshing flavors that go along very well with traditional ones, such as kimchi, I love kimchi though ;). I am really curious to see which turn this ramen market will take in the future while slurping on some noodz!
