Today I decided to eat a Cheese Burger.
At the time of this post I am still waiting for it to cool down , being so hot from the microwave.
I am completley ignoring the ingredients, yes there are a lot of food additives in there
At least it is not expired ...
Additive name | What it is used for |
---|---|
E472e | It is used in crusty breads, such as rye bread with a springy, chewy texture, as well as biscuits, coffee whiteners, ice cream, and salad dressings. |
E282 | Propionic acid and propionates are used as preservatives, mainly against fungi. |
E300 | Ascorbic acid also known as Vitamin C, essential for growth, healthy teeth, gums, bones, skin and blood vessels and aiding the absorption of iron, is found naturally in many fresh fruits and vegetables. |
E451 | Buffers, stabilizers and emulsifiers. Also used to retain water during processing. |
E202 | Sorbic acid is a preservative, mainly against fungi and yeasts. It is not effective against bacteria. Optimal activity is at pH values below 6.5 (acid and slightly acid foods). |
E160c | It is used for colouring . Is a deep red colouring and flavoring, derived from red bell peppers (capsicum annuum). Common names used for this additive are: paprika extract, capsanthin or capsorubin. |
E331 | Mono , di and trisodium citrate. It seems to increase the activity of many antioxidants. It is used as an acidity regulator as well as aroma compound. Using this also decreases the rowing of fruits ans veggies and increases gel strength in marmelades. Yum... |
E339 | Commercially produced from phosphoric acid, which is produced from phosphate mined in the US. It also it is used to increase the activity of antioxidants, prevents desiccation and is used as an acid stabilizer in powders as well as to prevent formation of clumps |
E452 | Sequestrants (metal binders), stabilizer and emulsifiers. This also used to retain water during processing and storage. So much water retention .... |
E330 | Citric acid. This is also used as an acidity regulator as well as aroma compound. |
E160a | is an orange / yellow colouring that, once in the body, is converted to Vitamin A. This colouring may not be suitable for vegetarians because gelatine, which is derived from cattle or fish, may be used as a stabilizer. |
So, a lot of acidity regulators, colouring agents, flavoring, stabilizers, what do you think ?
Is this healthy enough to eat daily or monthly ?
