Grilled mackerel with lemon (for a picnic)

The season of shish kebabs and other goodies cooked on charcoal began. Today I offer you a recipe for mackerel grilled, cooked on a grate over the coals. The dish turns out very much - it with a huge appetite is eaten even by those who are to fish, to put it mildly, indifferent. Verified ...

Ingredients for 4 servings:

mackerel 4 pcs.
lemon middle 1 piece.
bulb medium 1 pc.
dried basil 1 tsp
salt and pepper to taste

Recipe:

We melt the mackerel, cut off the head, remove the insides. Washed. Along the ridge on one side we make a deep incision to the costal bones, but so that the fish can not be cut.

Scoop with salt, pepper and basil. In the cut on the ridge and in the abdomen of the fish we put thin slices of lemon and half-rings of onion.

Leave to marinate for 3-4 hours (and can be longer). We lay out on a lattice and fry over moderately hot coals, periodically turning, minutes 15-20.

We eat with fresh vegetables, baked potatoes or something else that you took with you to nature ...
