This is a small Roi or Peacock Grouper. The Roi is regarded as a plague on the Hawaiian Reefs as it is an invasive species that is a fast breeder and the local fisherman believe it is eating the native fish.
There are good fighters on my light tackle because it is hard to bring them in because they have rows of small sharp teeth that will just shred the line. You have to hook them perfectly to bring them in on light tackle.
