Fiber network sits on the secondary railroad

The 575-kilometer secondary railway, which is outside the optical fiber network, is now being added to the modern connection.

According to the sources, there are more than 3,500 kilometers of railway lines in the country now. Out of which three optical fiber cable has been installed along the 2,500 kilometer long railway line. More than seven hundred kilometers of fiber was established at different times.

The remaining 575 kilometers of the railway line as a secondary line was never very important. So these routes were not covered under this network.

The government is going to start the work of building the cable here at a cost of Tk 69 crore. For which a project has been taken, which will go on Sunday for approval, said railway ministry secretary Mofazzel Hossain.

He said, 'Optical fiber is very important to telecom operators too. Keeping this in mind, we are going to install the cable. So that we can make some income by paying our work as well. '

At present, the Ministry of Railways has the license of the Nationwide Telecommunication Transmission Network and they are earning a lot from cable rental.

Earlier, in 1992, the Norwegian government established the obsolete optical fiber for Bangladesh during the time that the railway division At that time, 1,600 kilometer fiber was installed. Later in 1997, Grameenphone received this cable lease through open auction.

Later, Grameenphone set up another 409-kilometer optical fiber. Under the agreement, Grameenphone has the responsibility to repair and maintain these optical fiber.

Later, the railway itself has set up more than 400 kilometers of optical fiber, which is now being called for auction.

According to the project, it will take up to 2020 to set up the cable next to the 575 kilometer rail line outside the optical fiber network.

The secretary said that the government's approval process will be started after the tender call. As a result, the power and eligibility of the railway ministry will increase further. post source
