Todays photo contest of @julinak's is colourfulphotography. So I am sharing the blouse I bought for my Mom to use.
We call this "binabaye" blouse because of the wide bell like sleeves. This is just a simple imexpensive blouse (470 pesos is still expensive for me) because it is only painted design and then the sewed around the painted design making it look embroidered. The real embroidered ones will cost not less than 1000 pesos. The cloth is also good quality.
We are invited to our Mayor's 60th birthday party this Saturday, I was not planning to let my Mom wear filipiniana as the theme requested "Barrio Fiesta". Meaning come in any Filipinian costume, lucky I also have a hablon blouse like this but simple stripes and I will wear a long black skit and the native foot wear "bakya". If you can see the dark pink skirt under my mom's blouse, it is made of hablon so it is a good costume. I even bought our companion Teray a blouse like my mom cream colored but very much simpler and cheaper (170 pesos) Any ways if ever, her daughters can borrow if needed. It will only be a one time theme.
I also have the native original tambourine necklace to use. I also have a fake one for Teray,so we are complete. This is for Sept. 8, to be held in the town's cultural hall but I think I saw only 50 invited on Facebook but others by mouth.
