Strawberry is a very creamy and delicious fruit. Strawberry seeds are currently available in Bangladesh. It is possible to produce hundreds of seedlings a year if a strawberry tree grows through a runner. As strawberry is a winter season's tree, it is very difficult to save the trees from April to September, due to the high temperature of Bangladesh. Strawberry fruit green in raw condition and in a ripe condition, it gets a bright red color.
It contains vitamin A, C, E, folic acid, selenium, calcium, polyphenols, ellagic acid, feral acid, viric acid, quercetin, genothomycin and phytosterol. Professor of Botany Department of Rajshahi University. M. Manzur Hossain, in 1996 tried to cultivate a low-length long strawberry seed from Japan. But first he saw that this genre is not breeding through runner. Even the size of the fruit is getting smaller. Which is not suitable for commercial cultivation. Later, he was able to invent a variety of species through research in the University's Tissue Culture Lab. Which is possible to grow commercially in the weather of Bangladesh.
Strawberry farming area: In the winter country, strawberries grows nicely. Strawberries can be grown in some northern districts of the country. Strawberries can be cultivated especially in areas where the winter season longer. In Panchagarh, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Thakurgaon and even Pabna, Natore can be cultivated. Strawberries can be grown by applying large quantities of organic fertilizers in sandy and soil. Strawberries cannot be grown in the land where water is accumulated.
Strawberry seedlings can be planted from mid-October to mid-December. But November is the best time to plant strawberries. After the construction of the land, the length of the line from the line should be 50 centimeters and the à seedlings are 30 cm away in every row.
*There are plenty of organic fertilizers needed for strawberries. For this, 50-60 kg urea fertilizer, 70 kg TSP fertilizer and 80 kg of MOP fertilizer must be applied per acre. Divide these fertilizers into two equal parts, one portion to give one month before flowering and another part should be given during flowering time. Irrigation should be done after 2-3 days after the fruit starts to come.
Collect and sell fruits: When the raw fruit starts to be yellow or reddish, then the fruit starts ripe. It gets the red color after ripe. But for sale, the fruit does not need to be completely red. In that case, the fruits have to be a little hard. After with the paper packets they have to be marketed. On average, every tree has 150-200 g of fruits. The fruit is new in this country, so the risk is more. Still, it said that strawberry cultivation by intellect and intelligence would become a profitable business one day.
