## ***Mischievous Mermaid ! 🌊***

En esta oportunidad quiero compartir con todos ustedes mi más reciente ilustración para participar en el concurso de arte de esta semana de @splinterlands. Para esta ilustración he elegido al personaje [*Mischievous Mermaid*](https://next.splinterlands.com/card-detail/20/regular/1?tab=lore) como referencia, principalmente siempre me ha parecido un personaje bastante llamativo por sus colores por lo que quise representarlo en mi estilo, además con motivo de practica he decidido realizar esta ilustración en el programa de *Photoshop* por lo que sería mi primera ilustración en ese programa. ¡Espero que les guste tanto como a mí y les doy las gracias por leer mi publicación! >! This time I want to share with all of you my most recent illustration to participate in this week's @splinterlands art contest. For this illustration I have chosen the character [*Mischievous Mermaid*](https://next.splinterlands.com/card-detail/20/regular/1?tab=lore) as a reference, mainly it has always seemed to me a quite striking character for its colors so I wanted to represent it in my style, also for practice purposes I decided to make this illustration in the *Photoshop* program so it would be my first illustration in that program. Para realizar a este personaje tuve que tomar algunas referencias en cuanto a sirenas para poder aprender cómo funciona principalmente su cola. Entendido esto comencé a realizar las primeras ideas sobre la pose que esta tendría, teniendo la idea más clara fui realizando el boceto del personaje diferenciando cada parte de este con colores diferentes para de cierta forma no confundirme, poco a poco iba agregando los respectivos elementos que tiene el personaje de referencia hasta completa el boceto. >! Once I understood this I began to make the first ideas about the pose that this one would have, having the idea clearer I started to make the sketch of the character differentiating each part of it with different colors to somehow not confuse me, little by little I was adding the respective elements that the character has as a reference until the sketch was completed.

Una vez complete mi boceto quise realizar un lineart, realmente esto lo hice porque pensé que tendría problemas a la hora de aplicar el color en Photoshop ya que es la primera vez que lo utilizo para realizar una ilustración. Realizado este lineart le aplique una capa base con el color de la piel del personaje para empezar con la aplicación del color. >! Once this lineart was done I applied a base layer with the color of the skin of the character to start with the application of the color.

En este punto empecé a trabajar con el color, primero aplique los colores base que tendría este personaje, estos fueron tonos bastante similares a los del personaje original. Finalmente, comencé a darle volumen al personaje, aplicando algunas sombras generales las cuales poco a poco fui profundizando un poco más. >! Finally, I started to give volume to the character, applying some general shadows which I gradually deepened a little more.

Fui colocando las iluminaciones al personaje, apliqué tonos más generales de luz en las zonas más iluminadas, así como en los elementos para dar más volumen. En este punto jugué muchísimo con los modos de fusión de capa para lograr un resultado que me gustara ya que al estar utilizando otro programa si se me hizo un poco difícil unificar los colores y dar el aspecto que quería. Para finalizar agregue detalles extras al personaje para que los elementos destacaran un poco más, trabaje en un fondo acuático a partir de un degradado de tonos en el que aplique "brochazos" con el pincel, además de una gran luz azul que iluminara toda la parte superior del personaje y como detalle final coloque burbujas para dar sensación de movimiento en la ilustración. >! At this point I played a lot with the layer blending modes to achieve a result that I liked since I was using another program and it was a bit difficult to unify the colours and give the look I wanted. To finish I added extra details to the character to make the elements stand out a little more, I worked on an aquatic background from a gradient of tones in which I applied "brush strokes" with the brush, in addition to a big blue light that illuminated the whole upper part of the character and as a final detail I placed bubbles to give a sensation of movement in the illustration.
